We’re back up to 100,000 cases of covid a day, the same rate that we were at in the winter of 2020, but this time the virus is more aggressive and much more deadly and is selecting the unvaccinated, proving that once again, Darwin was right. Only the fittest will survive.
Since Los Angeles and New York City are already pretty fit, they have both said that if you want to party, eat out in your favorite restaurant, or go see a show you have to prove that you are safe to be in the company of sane, sensible human beings. If you want to participate in society, show the bouncer your vaccination passport.
Whatever their reason for not being vaccinated, the unvaccinated have proven that they are not willing to protect anyone else — not their fellow unvaccinated selfish twats, not the burned out health care workers who will put up with their bullshit when they eventually end up there, not the overwhelmed hospitals that don’t have enough beds to care for people who don’t have covid but could still die, and most importantly, not our children, who are too young to be vaccinated and trust the adults in their lives to protect them.
Kids in red states are headed back to school defenseless against a deadly virus. Schools are requiring that kids NOT WEAR A MASK TO SCHOOL which means they will for sure get and spread covid. If Republicans don’t care about kids getting shot in school they’re not going to care about them dying from a deadly disease at school because others refused to get the shot.
In Louisiana, more than 6,000 kids have covid. That’s over double the cases from last week. 949 staff and students in Arkansas have had to quarantine since classes began last week because 59 kids tested positive. In Texas, parents have 24 hours to notify schools if their kid has lice but when it comes to covid, schools CAN NOT tell parents if the school has any cases.
Immunizations and immunization requirements have been in schools since the 19th century. Nobody dies from small pox or diphtheria anymore because of VACCINES but all of a sudden parents are rejecting them. Any parent that won’t do everything possible to protect their kids from getting covid is an unfit parent.
If kids can’t bring peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to school for lunch because it might activate a classmate’s allergies and maybe kill them, they should be required to wear masks. That’s a no brainer but Republicans have made it so schools can’t care about brain fitness.
Conservative with a very good brain, Bill Kristol tweeted: By the way, vaccination is not a “deeply personal decision.” It is a routine public health requirement in a civilized society.
Two new strains of covid, Lambda and Colombian, are surging in South Florida. These 2 strains are worse than Delta which is already pretty bad yet Governor Deathsantis is sticking to the Trump strategy — ignore, distract, blame, minimize, and step over the dead bodies. He sent teachers a $1,000 pandemic bonus to pacify them before school starts even though he has done nothing to slow the spread of the virus. In fact, he has guaranteed that it will get much, much worse and that their students will die. Florida’s constitution specifically states that school decisions are to be made by school boards but he’s deciding that kids can’t wear masks anyway and school boards don’t know what to do.
Kristi Noem is competing with Ron DeSantis for worst governor. People are riding into Sturgis again. Over 700,000 bikers are expected to be there. Kristi Noem wants their money and all the rebel attention she’s going to get from their stay so she can beat DeSantis in the presidential race in 2024. This will be the last ride for a whole lot of them just because they want to fit in. A whole lot of bikers see vaccines, masks and social distancing like they do helmet laws — the government can’t tell me I can’t crash and burn if I want to. One spreads blood, bone and brain matter all over the place, the other spreads covid.
Not to be left out from the large group of idiot Republicans killing their constituents, Senator Rand Paul says he will introduce amendments to defund any government agency that seeks to enforce CDC guidelines, including schools. “It’s time for us to resist. They can’t arrest all of us. No one should follow the CDC.”
Former Newsmax host and right wing radio personality Dick Farrel is dead from covid after calling Dr. Fauci a lying freak and referring to covid as the “scamdemic.” Bye bye, dick.
A hospital in Texas has seen a 500% increase in covid admissions in the past 3 weeks. Dr. Varon, Chief of Critical Care said, “From day one of this pandemic I’ve been dealing with two wars. A war against covid and a war against human stupidity.”
The latest conspiracy theory for the cure for covid is a de-wormer for horses and people are so whacked out now that they’re refusing treatment if they do end up in the hospital because they believe the hospital is going to kill them. Mother Nature is selecting out the less fit so the rest of us can survive by eliminating those who deny science in the 21st century, who take farm animal remedies and give themselves Clorox enemas to cure covid because the government told them not to.
