Cover Up
The first day of the Senate trial to remove Trump lasted until 2:30 a.m. The managers for the prosecution did an outstanding job laying out the case against Trump. Trump’s lawyers fumbled, blamed Democrats, never defended Trump but instead focused on process, and lied. None of that mattered. The Republicans of the Senate jury did exactly what Trump wanted them to do — they voted to kill all evidence, witnesses and the subpoenaing of documents ahead of the so called “trial.”
It’s not a real trial. It’s a cover up. The whole thing is rigged. Trump will be acquitted and he will be acquitted quickly.
The defendant is writing the rules, the jury is taking direction from the defendant, and the judge is there for show.
None of them believe Trump is innocent. They know he’s guilty of everything the House has accused him of. They all know he is unfit to serve.
THEY DON’T CARE.
This is a cover up.
It’s a waste of time. A sham. Every single Republican is complicit. Some of them are guilty of some of the same crimes Trump has committed. They are hiding evidence for short term gain.
As cult members, they unwittingly signed a suicide pact last night. The GOP has lost over 650 seats since Trump took office. 101 of them were seats in the House of Representatives. The Dems only need to take 4 seats to gain control of the Senate but that won’t be for another year. In the meantime. The Republicans could let Trump blow up the world. They’ve already let him blow up the Constitution and our institutions of government.
His acquittal means granting Trump unlimited power. He could do a hell of a lot of damage in one year. That will be on the Republicans but they don’t care.
They don’t care.
The Republicans signed an oath before the impeachment trial began that they all fully intended to break.
They don’t care.
This is really taking it’s toll on woke Americans because they do care. This is painful.

You don’t have to be smart to know that fair trials include evidence and witnesses. Even the dumbest MAGA at the rally knows that.
