Trump’s civil fraud trial in New York is over. Judge Engoron says he’ll rule before January 31. He made a last minute decision to let Trump speak during closing argument. To no one’s surprise, he said he was an innocent man and that the trial was a fraud on him and that he should get paid. The judge probably let him do it, even after he already said no, because it will make things easier on appeal. Let Trump drive another nail in his own coffin.
The Iowa caucus is today. Voters will need to go out in subzero temperatures to stand in high school gyms, churches and community centers to vote for their favorite Republican. Republicans are confident that their voters will show up in huge numbers despite the weather. Trump is the most confident of all. He told his devotees at a MAGA rally in Iowa that he knows they’ll turn out for him. He said his supporters who are “sick as a dog” have to still show up for him even if they die. “If you vote and then pass away, it’s worth it remember.”

Speaking of Texas, Olympian Mary Lou Retton made the news for almost dying from “pneumonia.” She’s a MAGA Texan who is against Obamacare and is an anti-vaxxer. She claimed that she couldn’t get health insurance because of preexisting gymnastic injuries which is bullshit because Obamacare makes discriminating against preexisting conditions illegal. She got so sick inside her $8 million mansion she nearly died. She chose not to get insurance because she didn’t want to pay for it. Instead, she’s cashing in on her childhood fame by getting her bills paid with a GoFundMe. She won’t say which hospital treated her because she doesn’t want anybody to find out it wasn’t “pneumonia.” She’s not a sympathetic American no matter how the media frames her story. She would be sympathetic if she admitted regret.
Speaking of stupid ass MAGAs who refused to get vaccinated for COVID, 17,000 people died from taking the anti-malaria drug hydroxychloride because Trump told them to. He should be sued in civil court for wrongful death by the dead MAGA relatives but they won’t do it. They worship Trump too. Fox told them to take it, too, but they won’t sue Fox either. MAGAs were willing to risk their health and die rather than listen to Dr Fauci. Trump told those same people to show up and caucus for him in Iowa today, even if they freeze to death on their way home.
