At least 128 people have died from Hurricane Helene in six states, and many more are unaccounted for. Millions are without power and water. Biden will be making an aerial tour of Asheville, North Carolina, which was destroyed by water, but he doesn’t want to get in the way. He is going to ask Congress to go back in session to vote for a supplemental spending bill because they neglected to leave disaster aid in their short term continuing resolution to keep the government open before they left until November. Republicans have wasted no time making up conspiracy theories and exploiting the natural disaster to politicize things. They’re accusing the federal government of blowing our own national crisis off to fund Ukraine and support undocumented immigrants. Newsmax host Todd Starnes claimed that FEMA’s “top priority is not disaster relief” but to push diversity, equity and inclusion. “So, unless you’ve got your preferred pronouns spraypainted on the side of your submerged house — you won’t get a penny from Uncle Sam. Western North Carolina is just too Conservative and too Caucasian for FEMA to care.” The House Judiciary Committee posted on social media that Biden was blowing everything off and was relaxing at the beach. Trump flew in to Georgia and did a ridiculous press conference for nobody.
Asheville is 300 miles away from any beach. It’s located in the mountains. The mountains aren’t supposed to get hurricanes. 40 people have died so far in Asheville and 1,000 are missing. One mom lost her 7 year old son and both of her parents when they were all swept away into the water while they were trying to stay alive on the top of their roof.
Hurricane Helene made it to the Midwest before it dissipated. Warming oceans caused this. MAGAs blame the gays and immigrants and call it God’s revenge. The damage done is being talked about as a biblical catastrophe by the superstitious. None of them believe in climate change, a thing that they can see, hear, and touch. A real thing that has destroyed their lives. No, the explanation has to be unreal. It’s probably somewhere in the Bible they have never read.
Hurricanes are going to make portions of the southeast uninhabitable. Geologic changes from Hurricane Helene is such a disaster it has changed the map. Mountains have been resurfaced. Lakes are filled with the debris of homes and businesses, trash, trees, cars and pieces of bridges, train tracks and roads. It’s like Pompeii, Italy which was erased off the map back in 79 AD after Mt Vesuvius erupted and covered the city with at least 19 feet of ash and volcanic debris, which preserved it for centuries. What will the remains of Asheville say about us in 1,500 years? Will there still be a human race, living on Earth?
Iran just attacked Israel. Hundreds of ballistic missiles were sent into Israel in retaliation for Israel assassinating the leader of Hezbollah, the terrorist organization that operates out of Lebanon and is dedicated to annihilating Israel from the north. Hamas attacks Israel from the south and Hezbollah attacks from the north. Both are tied to Iran, a terrorist country that is capable of blowing up the world with its nuclear weapons, starting with Israel. This could be the start of something disastrous.
Trump is playing politics with the hurricane, accusing Biden and Harris of playing politics with the hurricane which is ripe since his disaster response record as president was an utter disaster. He alone is responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Americans.
Trump is “campaigning” in swing states, making an absolute fool of himself, as usual. The media keeps treating him like he’s a legitimate candidate and not a deranged lunatic who wants to be dictator, who already tried to overthrow the government once already, and is under indictment. They’re just toodling along like it’s any other day on the set of The Trump Show. The main stream media is more like the paparazzi, an Italian word for lowlife scumbag opportunists who chase the famous. Trump ragged on Kamala Harris in Wisconsin: “And then I have to sit there and listen to her bullshit last night. And who puts it on? Fox News. And they shouldn’t be allowed to put it on.” He’s obsessed with Kamala. “Where is Kamala Harris’ father? I’d love to speak to him. Nobody’s heard from him.” There he goes again with birtherism bullshit. Then he rambled on like a crazy person talking about how crazy Kamala Harris is. He said she was “mentally impaired” and that “only a mentally disabled person could have allowed this to happen to our country.”
The vice president debate is tonight. That should be a disaster.
The Dow Jones closed at another record high. It keeps doing that. Plus the Federal Reserve cut interest rates 0.5%, and still the Republicans claim that the economy is a complete disaster and needs Trump to fix it.
People are leaving MAGA rallies while Trump blathers on and on at the podium. Even the people standing behind him on bleachers are splitting before the fat man sings. Why? a) They’re getting paid and once their stipend drops via Zelle they’re outta there, b) They’re selflessly giving up their seats to make room for the 40,000 people outside who couldn’t get in, c) They’re struck sane and realize they’re in a cult and are trying to run, or d) They couldn’t take the smell any longer and needed fresh air.
Trump is a complete, unmitigated disaster.
