The DC appeals court has finally made its ruling on whether or not Trump is immune from prosecution for inciting an insurrection. HE IS NOT. Now it’s on to the Supreme Court. They could agree not to hear it which means today’s ruling stands and it’s on to trial. Or it could rule in Trump’s favor making the office of the presidency a safe place for dictators, sadists, and criminals.
Mark your calendars for the live streaming audio of the historical hearing of Colorado making its case before the Supreme Court this Thursday at 10 a.m. EST. This has never happened before so check it out. Check it out for the entertainment value, too. Trump’s lawyer is going to argue that Section 3 of the 14th Amendement doesn’t say he can’t run for president if he was part of an insurrection, only that he can’t serve if he wins.
The Republicans are gasping for air. They had their worst fundraising numbers in a decade. The RNC is pretty much broke. The state GOPs are a hot, chaotic mess. Lots of corruption, infighting, and serious money troubles.
Trump wants RNC chair Ronna McDaniel out. She has done everything he has ever wanted resulting in a dysfunctional GOP including helping with the insurrection and now he’s throwing her under the bus like he does everyone eventually.
Republican Nancy Mace’s original staff have all quit because she’s nuts. Her entire staff has turned over since November 1. Her former chief of staff is running against her, hoping to unseat her in the next election. They say she doesn’t know what she’s doing, is a micro managing abusive boss, and has such a bad reputation on the hill that the only people who will work for her are George Santos’s former staffers. Her employee handbook demanded unreasonable things from staff on a daily basis such as a mandatory number of media bookings per day. Returning calls, texts, and emails had to be within 8 minutes, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, even holidays. She only had one bill signed into law — renaming a post office in her district. Fox News isn’t a sure bet for her anymore, either. She got called out when she said the immigration bill that the Senate has been working on keeps the border wide open. The Fox person Martha MacCallum asked her, “Have you read all 370 pages of this bill?” She admitted that she hadn’t but she knows that it waters down the asylum laws. MacCallum challenged her. “It’s exactly the opposite. That’s why I’m asking.” Oopsie. Not even the border can help you now, Nancy.
Fox News not letting their regular Republicans they invite on their shows get away with BS? And reporting the truth about the good news about the Biden economy? What is going on.
Successful presidency fun fact: The number of cabinet members that have quit the Biden administration in the past 3 years is 1. Labor Sec Marty Walsh left to be the head of the NHL player’s union, not because he couldn’t take it anymore or he got forced out. He’s not writing a book or appearing on TV to talk about how incompetent Biden is. The number of cabinet members who left the Trump administration in the first 3 years was 10. They wrote tell all books.
The United Auto Workers union (UAW) has endorsed Biden. He really stuck his neck out for them early on in their strike and has always had their backs, as he has all union members’ backs. He made history when he went and stood with them in the picket line back in September. The public overwhelmingly supported them, too, even Republicans.
The campaign finance filings came out and what do you know, proof that Trump staged an auto workers event of his own. A reporter found a receipts for a $20,000 rental fee that Trump paid a non-union auto plant to stage a fake celbratory gathering to rival Biden standing with auto workers during the strike. Trump filled the venue with people and signs saying Trump supported auto union workers. They were not only non-union workers carrying fake signs, some of them didn’t work there at all.
Biden used clips of Republicans calling Biden the most pro union president ever for an ad.
Political parties and unions fun fact: The two major political parties flipped in the early 20th century when Democrats sided with unions after the Industrial Revolution. Prior to that, they were the racists who started and belonged to the KKK. They were the bad guys. The Republicans were the good guys who ended slavery. They were also the party of protecting wealth, which hasn’t changed, so they were against workers unionizing, which hasn’t changed. The Democrats took up the organized labor cause which is how cities turned blue. There were way more voting workers than there were industrialists back then and there still are. The Dems sticking up for workers was the beginning of the urban/rural divide. The white racist southerners abandoned the Democratic party because they were still of the plantation mentality that believed that one or a few could exploit the many and that white people are better than everybody else, even the poorest of the white people who could really use union representation. This became the dawning of “the left” and it happened really fast. Things change fast in cities. People who live in them don’t fear change and they never have. In fact, they push for it. They can’t be tricked into believing all the stuff that Republicans say about cities because they live in them. People who are spread out in rural areas are easy to fool. Things happen much slower on the farm. They were scared of change then and they’re scared of change now. Many of them never leave their hometowns. Their only link to the outside world is Fox News.
Soon after the Amazon workers unionized, Chris Smalls, president of the new Amazon labor union, wearing a jacket that said, “Eat the Rich” testified before Congress in May 2022. He reminded Lindsey Graham that “the people are the ones that make these corporations go, not the other way around.” He got his picture taken in the Oval Office with President Biden. Wearing that jacket.
