Election Day
It’s election day. Trump has everything riding on this day. EVERYTHING. If he loses, he’s going to jail.
Businesses all around the White House and Capitol are boarded up in preparation for the civil unrest that Trump has summoned.
Trump is a flight risk. Once he’s defeated, he can take his private plane and go to one of his Trump Towners in another country and live in exile.
Trump started his day by calling in to Fox and Friends, the propaganda network that launched his political career and tells him what to think, say and tweet on a daily basis. He said that 232,000 people dying from the Democratic hoax isn’t that many. It could have been worse.
Joe Biden started his day by attending church where his first wife, infant daughter, and son Beau are buried.
Somebody in the Trump campaign thought it would be wise to make a 2 minute video of Trump making a total ass out of himself dancing to YMCA/Macho Man at his MAGA rallies. It’s quite degrading. Trump posted it.
Somebody from the campaign played the theme to the Titanic at one of his final MAGA rallies. It was hilarious and apropos but totally lost on the MAGAs in the crowd. They’re too dumb to understand irony. Whoever did that probably got fired but what the hell the job was coming to an end anyway. That’s show biz.
Obama has been campaigning for Joe Biden. He’s been having the best time trolling Trump. He’s been letting it rip — making fun of him and getting under his thin skin.
Mitch McConnell says making election day a national holiday is a “power grab.”
Last night, on election eve, Trump tweeted: “The Supreme Court decision on voting in Pennsylvania is a VERY dangerous one. It will allow rampant and unchecked cheating and will undermine our entire systems of laws. It will also induce violence in the streets. Something must be done!” Twitter posted a warning about Trump’s tweet: “Some or all of the content shared in this Tweet is disputed and might be misleading about an election or other civic process.”
Twitter will be applying warning labels on all of the tweets that US political candidates and campaigns post today that claim victory before the results have been certified and declared.
“He’s gonna get his fat ass beat.” — James Carville
Trump knows he’s going to get his fat ass beat. That’s why he and the Republicans have already filed over 400 lawsuits. Their only hope is to stop votes from being counted.
One party wants your vote to count and the other party doesn’t.
A federal court rejected the Republicans’ bid to throw away 127,000 votes in Harris County, Texas.
A Nevada judge rejected the GOP lawsuit seeking to halt early vote counting in Las Vegas.
It’s not over until every vote is counted.
Trump hopes that he can make a mess out of counting the votes by tying things up in court. That’s been his modus operandi his entire life — draw everything out in lawsuits and force people to go broke fighting him — but this time it’s not going to work. Not even Russia can help him now.
Gen Z and Millennials make up 40% of today’s electorate. 15 million young people have turned 18 since the last presidential election. 6.8 million more young people have already voted than did in 2016.
Stay calm and be patient. Don’t panic and don’t leave. Be prepared to stand in line all day if you have to. Bring a charged phone, a charger, water, snacks, a book, and maybe something to sit on if you know you’ll be there a long time. Stay in line! Your country needs you!
Over 100 million people have already voted! That’s 47% of registered voters nationwide.
It’s election day! Shout out to Indivisible, The Resistance, Black Lives Matter, the Democrats, Me Too, March for Our Lives, The Lincoln Project, and every single person who has shown up on behalf of democracy, progressivism, justice and humanity over the past 4 years. Let’s do this!
