Era of Outrage
The cop who killed Daunte Wright, Kim Potter, says she meant to tase him, not shoot him. She’s been a cop for 26 years. She should know the difference between a taser and a gun. She is the president of the Brooklyn Center Police Officer’s Association and has represented all sorts of bad cops who have shot people. That’s probably where she picked up the taser defense.
Speaking of defense, she’ll be able to use her union power to give herself the best defense. Watch her sue the police department for something ludicrous like releasing her name to the public too soon. The City Manager refused to tell the press her name because it would be “inappropriate.” He got fired. Kim Potter is on administrative leave right now, enjoying time off while collecting a paycheck even though she murdered a young black man in front of the world. She should be sitting in jail.
The medical examiner ruled Daunte Wright’s death a homicide.
The cop who pepper sprayed Army Lieutenant Caron Lazario got fired.
A student at Austin-East Magnet High School in Knoxville, Tennessee, brought a gun to school and shot at the cops when they showed up, injuring one. The cops shot back and killed him. Several current or former students of this high school have been shot and killed this year, just not at school.
Come to America where the trial of one cop who murdered a black man in front of the world is interrupted by breaking news of another cop murdering another black man in front of the world IN THE SAME CITY interrupted by another breaking story of another school shooting. Just another day in the good, old USA.
Speaking of just another day in America, in shoot ’em up Texas a baby boy was shot and killed by his 3 year old brother after he found the gun inside their apartment in Houston because the adults are stupid and dangerous, and a 9 year old boy found a gun inside the family car and shot an 11 year old boy in Dallas. Who will the thoughts and prayers be for? Neglected kids or grieving parents?
Today, President Biden and Congress will pay tribute to slain Capitol Police officer William Evans who died in the line of duty protecting the US Capitol. His body will be lying in repose all day in the rotunda.
Mitch McConnell made a speech on the Senate floor and threw his pure white base a bloody red bone by saying that the suspect who killed William Evans was motivated by extremist ideologies like “the Nation of Islam.” There you go. All Muslims are terrorists but white supremacists who attacked the entire Capitol and killed a police officer ARE NOT.

White supremacists define outrage as anything they find socially unacceptable. They’re easily shocked because they’ve made the rules. The rules are changing and that freaks them out so much they kill people who break their rules.
While all of this shit is going on, Democrats are getting shit done. They’re not afraid of change. They LIKE it. You can’t progress unless you can roll with the changes.
Democratic Governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, is demanding that the state legislature holds hearings about police reform after Kim Potter murdered Daunte Wright: “We can stop pretending that this is just the natural order of the universe and things happen this way.”
Will Smith is pulling the production of his film, “Emancipation” (about slavery) out of Georgia because of its new voter suppression law.
Democratic governor Andy Beshear of blood red dumb fuck McConnell/Rand Paul Kentucky signed into law new provisions to make voting EASIER.
100 CEOs got on a call to talk about what they could do to stop the Republicans from passing more Jim Crow laws. They have gone from throwing money at repugs so they won’t have to pay taxes and have little to no regulation getting in the way of them making huge profits, to drawing the line with not letting Republiqans get away with destroying our democracy.
25% of American adults have been vaccinated. When Joe Biden took office, 1% of adults were vaccinated. Now a quarter of all adults have been vaccinated and he hasn’t even been president for 3 months.
The new improved Trumpless CDC has identified racism as a “serious public health threat” and has launched a new initiative aimed at combating health inequities caused by systemic racism, “Racism and Health.”
White people who do not identify as Republiqans are making up for lost time, educating themselves about systemic racism and learning everything they can on how to be a good ally. More and more white people are becoming outraged about the injustices known to everybody but them.
