Face Off
Trump got the delegates he needed to be the nominee. The 2024 presidential election will be a faceoff between two old white men, a rematch between incumbents who are only 4 years apart but the media only focuses on one. Trump is facing hundreds of years in prison and will go down in history for trying to overturn the government after being impeached twice but that’s not a story.
Trump’s watch party was at Mar-a-Lago. Cash bar. A British reporter asked Marjorie Taylor Greene about wanting to be Trump’s VP and she wouldn’t answer so she asked her about Jewish space lasers and she told her to fuck off.
Nikki Haley won Vermont but she dropped out this morning. Now Trump can’t say he won in a wash out and it will drive him so crazy it will melt his face.
Biden gave Nikki Haley’s supporters a big dad hug this morning after she announced suspending her campaign with this statement: “Donald Trump made it clear he doesn’t want Nikki Haley’s supporters. I want to be clear: There is a place for them in my campaign. I know there is a lot we won’t agree on. But on the fundamental issues of preserving American democracy, on standing up for the rule of law, on treating each other with decency and dignity and respect, on preserving NATO and standing up to America’s adversaries, I hope and believe we can find common ground.”
Mitch McConnell cemented his traitorous legacy by endorsing Trump this morning. In the face of the threat to the greatest democracy in human history, McConnell put the batteries back in the monster.
Great news! Democrat in name only Kyrsten Sinema is out! She’s not running for re-election for senate in Arizona. Her legacy will be being a two faced liar whose personal Daddy issues made alliances with dangerous Republicans that ended up hurting millions of Americans. Now Ruben Gallego has a real shot at being the next Democratic senator in Arizona and he’ll vote like one, too. He’s got a proven track record in the House already. Plus the guy is a former Marine who fought in urban combat so when the rioters were at their door at the House chambers on January 6, he went into action calming his fellow members and telling them what to do to defend themselves. He’s a stand up guy who doesn’t hate immigrants. His parents are immigrants. They came here so he could have the life he has today.
The Republican candidate for governor in North Carolina is MAGA holocaust denier, Mark Robinson. He’s the lieutenant governor now and a real nut. He hates everybody, even his own community. He’s Black and isn’t grateful to the civil rights movement even though he wouldn’t be lieutenant governor if it wasn’t for that fight. Trump endorsed him and said he’s better than Martin Luther King. Mark Robinson said Martin Luther King was a communist. He also said that Beyoncé is satanic, the moon landing didn’t happen, and there is a secret ruling cabal that is part human and part reptile. He will make abortion a crime and says that members of the LGBTQ community are filth. This is the Republicans’ guy — a black man in a MAGA hat.
Charles Barkley said if he sees a black man wearing a MAGA hat he’ll punch him in the face so Robinson better stay out of Barkley’s face.
167 years ago today, the Supreme Court issued its infamous Dred Scott decision. Dred Scott, a slave who had lived in the free state of Minnesota for 4 years, sued for his freedom in the western territory of Missouri saying he should get to maintain his free status. When it went to the Supreme Court the justices, in a 6–3 decision said he could not. 5 of them were slave holders. They ruled that slaves were property and could therefore never be citizens. Chief Justice Roger B. Taney wrote that slaves “had for more than a century before been regarded as beings of an inferior order, and altogether unfit to associate with the white race, either in social or political relations; and so far inferior, that they had no rights which the white man was bound to respect; and that the negro might justly and lawfully be reduced to slavery. . . . He was bought and sold, and treated as an ordinary article of merchandise and traffic, whenever a profit could be made by it.” The Dred Scott decision made it impossible to prevent the spread of slavery which opened the way for the Civil War. The SCOTUS decision was never formally overturned. The 13th and 14th amendments cancelled it out.
In your face, Mark Robinson.
