Trump and the Republicans rammed through more chaos and destruction over the weekend starting with firing top people in the military. Gen. Charles Q. Brown Jr., a four-star fighter pilot who became only the second African American to hold the chairman’s job, was fired. He targeted him for supporting DEI in the ranks. He was fired for being Black. Then Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth fired Admiral Lisa Franchetti, the first female officer to rise to the Navy’s top job of Chief of Naval Operations. She was fired for being female.
In the Senate, Republicans tried to get stuff passed for their billionaire budget in the dead of the night over the weekend to minimize press coverage, but the Democrats kept throwing sand in their spokes and gears every single time they put something up. The strategy is to get the Republicans to show their cards, slow them down, and get them on record for where they really stand on issues. A vote speaks volumes. Democratic Senator Chris Murphy needs the public’s help in spreading the word about what the Democrats are doing. He wants people to show up at rallies and town halls and share what the Republicans are up to and how the Dems are fighting back. We can’t count on the media to inform people. He’s calling this a five-alarm fire.
People are flooding town halls like they did when the Affordable Care Act was seriously threatened during Trump’s first term. They want Elon gone. They also want the Republicans to stay away from Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, and SNAP. They’re coming for all of it and this time they could really pull it off. One woman in Idaho was sitting in the audience at her town hall and got kicked out, after being assaulted, for dissenting and booing. She was hog tied and carried out by 3 unidentified strange men while the crowd applauded and cheered. If a woman is being dragged out of a room by three strange men while screaming “who are these guys!” people need to do something. The one lone liberal in Idaho is the canary in the coal mine. Will anybody intervene when women are being assaulted in public in other states or is this just a skin head Idaho thing?
Trump fired the head of ICE because he wasn’t hunting brown people fast enough.
Nobody has figured out what the federal government is doing with all the data it has stolen from Americans.
Kash Patel was confirmed as FBI director. The vote was 51 to 49. This is a very scary confirmation. He’s mega MAGA and very dangerous. He was in on the insurrection. In 2023 he published a book with a list of more than 50 current or former U.S. officials that he claimed were members of the “deep state” and are a “dangerous threat to democracy.” Opponents worry he will use the FBI to target those and other people he thinks are insufficiently loyal to Trump. He also published two children’s books where Trump was king.

MAGA podcaster Dan Bongino is Trump’s new deputy director of the FBI. His only experience is talking shit on the radio.
Trump called the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky a dictator.
An 11 year old little girl in Texas took her own life because she was bullied, specifically with taunts about deporting her family.
HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. says he intends to take on antidepressants. Um, the entire country needs antidepressants.
Trump and the Republicans have come up with a new ingenious way to take the vote away from women. They want to fix it so you can’t vote if your voter registration name doesn’t match the name on your birth certificate so that eliminates all married women who took their husband’s name.
Speaking of sticking it to women, Trump singled out Governor Janet Mills of Maine in a governors meeting because she’s a Democrat. He told her she wouldn’t get any federal aid from him and that she had a short career in politics. She said, “See you in court.”
The Kennedy Center cancelled a performance of the Gay Men’s Chorus scheduled for May for World Pride. They were removed from the website without explanation. They got cancelled because they were gay.
Trump’s pardoned militiaman, former Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio, is back out there causing problems. He was arrested by Capitol Police for assaulting a counter-protester at a demonstration then later he stalked ex-Capitol police officer Michael Fanone in a lobby while entering an elevator. He called him a coward for getting him sentenced to 22 years in jail.
