Get It Right

At a press conference yesterday, Attorney General Merrick Garland reiterated that nobody is above the law. When asked about what was going on with the January 6th investigation he said, “We do not do our investigations in public. This is the most wide-ranging investigation and the most important investigation that the Justice Department has ever entered into. We have to get this right…….We have to do two things. We have to hold EVERY person who is criminal responsible for trying to overturn a legitimate election, and we must do it in a way that’s filled with integrity and professionalism.” Can Trump be prosecuted? “No person is above the law in this country. There is nothing in the principles of prosecution which prevent us from investigating anyone who is criminally responsible for an attempt to undo a democratic election.”

It’s looking more and more like the Secret Service was in on the coup. 24 agents were asked to turn over a month’s worth of texts and they didn’t because “they’re lost.” They made them disappear because they know how to make that kind of stuff disappear. This is a cover up. The Secret Service is supposed to be the most trustworthy organization of all. They hold the president’s life in its hands. Who is protecting Biden right now and can they be trusted?

How much does the Secret Service know about who placed the pipe bombs at the RNC and DNC headquarters the night before the coup? How is it possible that there has been no leads on that investigation? We still don’t know who removed the panic button in Ayanna Pressley’s office, who shared the locations of the non-reinforced Capitol windows for the mob to break through, and who disabled Mike Pence and his staff’s key cards — all areas that the Secret Service not only has access to, but the expertise and access to carry out each mission.

Mike Pence wouldn’t get in the Secret Service’s car when they wanted him to go with them while the Capitol was under attack. He knew.

The Secret Service is trying to use the excuse that the texts were lost due to a scheduled migration of devices. That information is supposed to be preserved as per policy and procedure. Where is it? Both chairs of the Select Committee, Bennie Thompson and Liz Cheney say the Secret Service’s “procedure for preserving content prior to this purge appears to have been contrary to federal records retention requirements and may represent a possible violation of the Federal Records Act.”

Steve Bannon’s trial is a straight forward, run of the mill legal proceeding that he is trying to turn into a repressive abuse of government overreach that will amount to him being made some sort of political prisoner if found guilty. As hard as he tries, he can’t get the attention he’s looking for outside of the courthouse when he does his press conferences. Nobody cares. The first day of his trial were short, easy, simple questions with only two witnesses. Did he get the subpoena? Yes. Was it dated and signed? Yes. Did he ignore it? Yes.

Rudy Giuliani has been ordered to testify before the Fulton County grand jury investigating Trump’s election crimes on August 9.

“He’s gone from America’s mayor to America’s crazy uncle, and now he’s America’s most wanted.” — Neal Katyal

Trump is still trying to get the 2020 election results overturned. The idiot called Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Robin Vos last week to ask him to decertify Biden’s 2020 election victory from 20 months ago.

Garrett Ziegler, a former Trump aide, was interviewed by the Select Committee and went a little nuts. He accused the committee of being “anti-white” and referred to his female colleagues who have spoken out against Trump as “thots and hoes.” For every Cassidy Hutchinson in the coup story there has got to be five Garrett Zieglers.

Marco Rubio says he will vote no on the House’s bill to codify gay marriage because he says it’s a waste of time. Closet case Lady G Lindsey Graham will vote no. Rob Portman is a yes. He has a gay son. Tommy Tuberville is a why not?

It’s the 38th day of gas prices going back down. Have Fox viewers noticed? Even though they’re paying less at the pump the price of gas doesn’t really go down until Fox tells them they do. Republicans aren’t mentioning it. They’re at the border screaming about an invasion. We’ve got a crisis down here! Hello?

Tonight is the 8th public hearing of the Select Committee and they will be hearing testimony from the highest level people so far, Sarah Matthews, deputy press secretary, and Matt Pottinger, deputy national security advisor. They’re not in the Cassidy or Garrett category — they both resigned.
