Good News!
The Supreme Court just ruled against racist Republicans. They have given state courts the power to review election laws and maps enacted by white supremacist state legislatures. The vote was 6–3 (Thomas, Alito, and Gorsuch dissented). The court rejected the independent state legislature theory in Moore v. Harper which would have barred state courts from striking down election laws and maps drawn by Republicans so they can cheat and win elections by creating districts of whites only voters. Big win for democracy. Big loss for white supremacy.
There is all sorts of other good news going on but the media doesn’t report it: Joe Biden is president.
President Biden is working to ensure every American has access to affordable, reliable high-speed internet. He wants to invest $42 billion to expand internet access to every home in the US by 2030 with his American Rescue Plan. He says the internet is a necessity like a utility. The cables used to bring the internet to rural areas will be made in US which means jobs, jobs, jobs.
The investments his administration has made in the past three years have the power to transform our country for the next five decades, with unions and working people at the center.

Biden says his infrastructure plan would result in 19 million jobs created over the next decade.
Biden has created 13 million new jobs since he took office. The economy is strong, the best in over 50 years.
Under Trump, unemployment was 6.3%. He lost 2.9 million jobs.
Trump and the Republicans increased the deficit to $7.8 trillion. Biden has shrunk it by $1.7 trillion.
Since Biden took office, private companies have announced over $470 billion in manufacturing and clean energy investments in the US. Electric vehicle sales have tripled.
Unlike Trump, Biden’s Justice Department functions independently from the White House. He is staying out of all investigations including Trump and his own son. He doesn’t direct who or what to investigate.
Biden was able to pull NATO and the EU together because he’s got a lot of relationships with people he worked with as senator, VP, and president.
Biden restored full protection to three national monuments that Trump attempted to reduce or destroy.
Biden calls the MAGA Republicans out as a threat to democracy. Kevin McCarthy accused him of dividing the country and said he was out of touch with the people.
The mainstream media isn’t covering all of the Biden successes and good news like it should because it’s consumed by what Trump, Majorie Taylor Green, and Lauren Boebert are doing and saying. They repeat Republican talking points without challenging or pushing back on their ridiculous claims. It says voters don’t want Biden again because he’s too old. Andrea Mitchell questioned Biden’s fitness for a second term because of his age. She’s so old she fell asleep on the air. They love to cover Joe’s blunders and goof ups. Joe Biden is old and he does put his foot in his mouth. That’s nothing new and it’s not because he’s old. He’s been doing that for over 30 years. He’s famous for forgetting stuff and blurting out inappropriate things but it’s not because he’s senile.
The media could blow it again by devoting all of its time to Trump like they did in 2016. They helped him win by giving him so much free coverage. They promoted him. Have they learned nothing from 2016? They have an obligation to be more careful in how and when to amplify him now and they need to be fairer in how they cover Biden. Communicate to the public all that he has accomplished. He had one of the most productive first two years of legislative progress in recent history, but it was never reported that way.
Biden saved democracy, saved our economy, controlled the pandemic, passed historical legislation, pulled the world community back together, put the repugs in their place and what’s the thanks he gets? Nothing but malarkey.
