Greene House Effect
All but 11 Republicans went on record to support a noxious, toxic, conspiracy believing, anti-Semite, Islamaphobe, racist QAnon member of Congress, Marjorie Taylor Greene. The final vote to remove her from committees was 230 to 199. Only 11 Republicans voted yes. Those 11 Republicans either risked a lot to do the right thing or they represent districts without a lot of superstitious stupid people who vote.
Liz Cheney voted no.
61 House Republicans voted to remove Liz Cheney from leadership and only 11 voted to remove Marjorie Taylor Greene from committees.
The rare few in the GOP who are standing behind the Constitution aren’t heroes. It’s their job.
The Republicans are threatening Dems with payback by saying they’re going to do the same thing to Democrats after they take control of the House in 2023.
Marjorie Taylor Greene made a speech on the House floor and as expected, lied, blamed others for her actions, did the both sides thing, and accused “cancel culture” for singling her out on this. She’s the victim.
Congresswoman Omar said this during her remarks, “As a survivor of civil conflict and civil war, I know political violence and political rhetoric does not go away on its own. This is about whether or not we will continue to be a peaceful and functioning democracy.”
Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib broke down in tears when she recalled the death threats she has gotten. She said, “Every single day that goes by without outright condemnation from every single one of her Republican colleagues, without consequences for her extremist views, is an endorsement of white supremacy.”
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer displayed a poster of a Marjorie Taylor Greene campaign ad from 3 months ago where she shows herself pointing a gun towards Omar Ilhan, Rashida Tlaib, and Alexandria Ocasio Cortez. He said, “This is an AR-15 in the hands of Ms. Greene. Look at that image and tell me what message you think it sends.”
Marjorie Taylor Greene has made so many videos that there is no way she can deny they exist. But she can lie about them and say she didn’t say what she said which is fine with the GQP. They’re all doing it. They’re co-sponsors of The Big Lie.
A new video surfaced of Marjorie Taylor Greene doing a campaign event with a life size cardboard cut out of Trump. She gushed over the cut out and rubbed Trump’s crotch in front of her supporters. She posted another video of herself yesterday walking through the tunnels in the Capitol. Was she giving a tour?
It doesn’t matter if she is giving video tours of the inside passageways of the Capitol, or lying on the House floor, or egging people on to threaten members of Congress, or that she’s a lunatic and has been kicked off of all committees. She can still vote and make laws. LAWS (insert diabolical laughter here!) Her first project is co-sponsoring legislation that would ban US embassies from flying the LGBTQ Pride flag.
Another voting technology company has had it with Fox News slandering them and is seeking restitution. Smartmatic has sued Fox and hosts Lou Dobbs, Maria Bartiromo and Jeanine Pirro, plus Trump’s so called attorneys Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell, for $2.7 billion.
Trump sent SAG-AFTRA a snarky letter cancelling his membership.
House managers have formally asked Trump to testify. Oh please oh please oh please oh please.

The Senate pulled an all-nighter and passed a covid budget resolution bill without a single Republican vote before sunrise today (the Senate hasn’t worked this hard in over 10 years.) People living in states like Kentucky with 2 Republican senators will get the help they need because of the 2 newly elected Democratic senators in Georgia but not enough people will make this connection and will vote to re-elect Mitch the Bitch and Rand Paul anyway because they’re not Democrats. They’ll cash those checks too, even though their senators voted for them not to get them.
Go Big vs. The Big Lie. That’s where we’re at right now. Democrats are fighting like hell in record time to get covid and the economy under control while the Republicans are pretending like the attack on the US government never happened.
