This time of year has not been traditionally great for a lot of people who are prone to depression, are without family, have financial troubles, or are going through a devastating loss and are facing the holidays for the first time without someone they really love. They get the blues during the holidays and just want to get them over with. There’s a new category of membership for the blues club — black sheep of white MAGA families, the offspring of mothers who celebrate the holy mother giving birth to Republican Baby Jesus.
White people have been grieving the loss of family members and friends since they found out they weren’t who they thought they were ever since Trump came along. People that they trusted and loved turned out to be racists. How could they have not known this about them until now? How can they stay friends with these people? How do they maintain their places in families after learning things about their family members that are unforgiveable? Do they just stick it out as black sheep from now on?
Black people have been dealing with this for generations but they’re never shocked when it happens because it happens all the time.

Moms for Liberty is behind the craze that schools are teaching Critical Race Theory (CRT). They are a 501 c 4 group whose mission is to fight for the survival of America by unifying, educating and empowering parents to defend their parental rights at all levels of government. It’s a 501 c 4 organization which means they don’t have to make public where their donations come from or how they spend them, thanks to the Supreme Court. It’s how millionaires and billionaires buy politicians legally and make policy. Moms for Liberty started on January 1, 2021, in where else? Florida — in response to mask and vaccine mandates, any mention of gay people in books, curriculum, or speech, and discrimination against white people (meaning do not teach children the truth about racism and slavery in American history). They are opposed to “government overreach” and train and mobilize parents to bully school boards and teachers, plus run for school board themselves to preserve “liberty.” The founders are white moms. One of them goes by the name Tiffany Justice. They are much like the Tea Party and the Moral Majority. Basically, Moms for Liberty is a white supremacist organization that exists to uphold white supremacy in public education and its run by white moms.
Critical Race Theory was never a thing before Florida made it a thing. It’s a college level course that only law students take. Nobody had ever heard of it before Ron DeSantis, Moms of Liberty, and all the people who crawled out from under their rocks to join MAGA came along.
In the last election, 317,000 people in Tennessee voted to leave slavery in their state constitution. That’s 11% of the voting population.

TikTokers are sharing their family’s dirty laundry this holiday season. One young adult was thrown out of her mom’s house with her Christmas gifts because she dared to say that laughing at Greg Abbott dumping migrants off in the cold in DC wasn’t funny. Another woman left her husband a couple of days before Christmas after she found out that he had taken $75,000 of equity out of their house and gave it to Trump (they were $15,000 away from paying it off). Many others have made videos just sitting in their cars crying, looking for community.
Anybody who still loves a Trump supporter at this point, with all the information known about him, must come to terms with the fact that their loved ones have a lot in common with those who stood around and watched black people be lynched. Laughing at desperate Latino migrants literally being kicked to the curb by confederate politicians is not funny. It’s sick. White moms who felt nothing when brown babies were ripped from their mother’s arms, told that she’d never see her baby again, and then stood helplessly as her baby was placed in a cage with other screaming, traumatized, filthy children, left to be cared for by other children, as a political stunt to deter people from crossing the border, is sick. Trumpism is a sickness.
A lot of people right now are silently suffering at the realization that the people who took care of them as children aren’t who they thought they were all of their lives.
