Impeachment? Ignore!
On the first day of the Republicans’ bogus impeachment hearing for Biden (Joe, not Hunter), they called three witnesses — former DOJ tax prosecutor Eileen O’Connor, a MAGA kook and election denier who believes we are being invaded at the southern border by military aged men from different countries who Biden recruited and is training to help him take over the country (part of her opening statement included Hunter Biden’s laptop and online pornography), George Washington Law School professor and a proponent of polygamy who has written several articles in support of it (he represented the Sister Wives family to try and get polygamy statutes overturned), a regular talking head on Fox News who criticizes Biden regularly, Jonathan Turley, their favorite go-to guy whenever they want someone with credentials to back up their bullshit, and forensic accountant Bruce Dubinsky. All three of them said there wasn’t enough evidence to impeach which shocked the Republicans. They weren’t supposed to say that.
Democrat Jamie Raskin, a constitutional law professor who served on the second Trump impeachment management team, said if the inquiry is really going to go forward they need to subpoena Rudy Giuliani and Lev Parnas since they were both eye witnesses to the so called Biden crimes. He made a motion to subpoena them both and Jim Jordan moved to table the motion (aka ignore it). Jordan’s motion passed 20 to 19.
Rudy and Lev were eye witnesses and participants in Trump’s crimes that got him impeached the first time. This whole Hunter Biden scandal started when Trump and Rudy tried to set Joe Biden up by getting scoundrels in Ukraine to go along with their plan to implicate Joe in Hunter’s fake business dealings. Lev Parnas has already admitted to it.
Jamie Raskin also pointed out that the Republicans are trying to impeach Biden based on a fabricated scandal that his son used his dad’s position as VP to make money in Ukraine when in fact Trump’s son in law used his own access to the Saudis, granted to him by his father in law, to make $2 billion.

Jim Jordan blocked Ramie Raskin’s motion to subpoena witnesses when he himself is in contempt of Congress for blowing off a subpoena from the Select Committee 500 days ago.

Democrat Dan Goldman (who was part of the legal team for Trump’s first impeachment and is now a member of Congress), got in a fight with House Oversight Chair James Comer because he refused to recognize his point of order. Jim Comer grunted at Goldman, “You keep speaking about no evidence. Why don’t you all just listen and learn?” Goldman snapped back, “I’m trying to introduce evidence!” Point of order!
James Comer claimed that they had “uncovered a mountain of evidence” that shows how Biden has abused his power and repeatedly lied about it to protect Hunter. They have NO EVIDENCE. Their first three witnesses all said as much.
Democrat Greg Casar asked for a show of hands of everybody who believed that if both Hunter Biden and Trump are found guilty then they should both be held accountable. All Democrats raised their hands. None of the Republicans did.
AOC pointed out that the Republicans used doctored images as evidence, which they can do because they’re not under oath. “That screenshot of what appeared to be a text message was a fabricated image. It was a fabricated image, I don’t know where it came from, I don’t know if it was staff of the committee, but it was not the actual, direct screenshot from that phone.” Republicans planted evidence in an impeachment inquiry hearing!
Democrat Jasmine Crockett went down the list of charges that Trump is facing that Republicans choose to ignore then ended her 5 minutes by saying that the only thing Biden is guilty of is loving his child unconditionally. Exasperated, she called them all out for not having any evidence and that they needed to end all of this so they could get on with the people’s business which is to keep the government open so people don’t die in the streets of the United States.
At the end of the day, Democratic Senator John Fetterman sent Jim Comer and his team a 12-pack of Bud Light with a note of congratulations on their historical achievement.
Republicans started planning on impeaching joe Biden before he was inaugurated. They have as much evidence now as they did then.
Dianne Feinstein died at the age of 90. She was California’s longest serving Senator — three decades. She leaves behind a hell of a legacy — a champion of gun laws (she wrote the 1994 assault weapons ban that was in force until 2004), the environment, and women’s rights. Before she was a US senator, she was president of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors then became acting mayor after Mayor George Moscone and Harvey Milk were assassinated at work. She was a moderate Democrat who worked well with Republicans back in the days when that was possible.
