Trump has called for Governor Gavin Newsom’s arrest.
About 400 people were arrested in L.A. over the past four days. All of the activity has taken place in a small area downtown but the media reports it as if riots are taking place all over L.A. which is 500 square miles. 700 Marines were deployed along with 2,000 additional National Guard for a total of 4,700 military in addition to the LAPD. This is overkill and totally unnecessary. The Marines are not trained for crowd control. They don’t do nonlethal force. They are not a tool, force or weapon to be used against civilians, but to Trump, they are toys. A lawless president is acting like a king and siccing the military on his subjects.
Once he invokes the Insurrection Act he can start killing people.
The National Guard is staying for 60 days, not 30 days as originally planned. Pete Hegseth testified to Congress that he needs $134 million to carry out Trump’s deranged PR mission. He claims his request can be justified because we are under attack by a foreign nation.
Thousands of captured migrants are headed for Gitmo.
For reference, there are 2,500 troops in Iraq and 1,500 in Syria right now.
Trump promises to bring what’s happening in Los Angeles to “everywhere.” ICE is preparing to deploy tactical units to five cities run by Democratic leaders.
Trump made a speech at Fort Bragg and got service members to boo Governor Gavin Newsom and Mayor Karen Bass.
Speaker Mike Johnson says Governor Newsom should be tarred and feathered. They did that in the colonial days. If you screwed up, they poured hot tar on you and covered you in feathers and paraded you through the streets.
It’s graduation season in Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Unified School District has directed its own police force to create safe spaces for families to seek out protection from ICE. All school staff — not just the school police — have received training on how to deal with immigration agents. About 100 high school graduations and end-of-year culminations are taking place today and yesterday, with graduation events continuing through June 16. LAUSD is making it possible for families to remain inside for as long as necessary should agents initiate a raid outside or in the neighborhood, and they are supporting students’ rights to protest as long as they stay on campus.
ICE is capturing undocumented children at their foster parents’ homes. One 17-year-old Honduran foster child, most likely a labor trafficking victim, was taken from his Pensacola foster home in shackles.

The National Guard is just hanging around. Some have taken aim at protesters, just for kicks, but for the most part they’re bored. Trump says LA would have been “obliterated” if he hadn’t sent in the troops. Trump thinks he has saved the city like Batman.
A reporter was shot in the calf with a rubber bullet while she was on air. He looked like he aimed for her.
CNN reporters were detained. They were let go but were told that if they came back they would be arrested.
SEIU and USWW president, David Huerta, has been released from custody after being arraigned on federal charges Monday for obstructing federal agents. He was injured during the arrest.
