Kooks, Criminals, and Thanks, Biden!
Doug Collins, the former Tea Party kook congressman from Georgia, is Trump’s new lawyer. He was part of the drama club caucus that used to perform for the cameras and Fox News starring him, Matt Gaetz, Jim Jordan, Devin Nunes and Louie Gohmert. They blocked and sabotaged everything while Democrats were in control of the House. He’s a former fire and brimstone preacher. He was an election denier and signed on to Ken Paxton’s demand to overturn the presidential election. During a House Judiciary Committee impeachment hearing, he got emotional and stormed out of the hearing. He made an over the top speech on the House floor warning men that women will murder their infants and bash in their skulls if abortion remained legal.
Trump has 5 trial dates coming up so far. The civil cases are: Round 2 of the E. Jean Carroll case, the Trump Organization’s $250 million suit for lying about the value of their properties, and a class action pyramid scheme suit. The criminal cases are: 34 counts including hush money payments to Stormy Daniels and the Mar-a-Lago espionage case. Indictments coming up are: Fulton County, January 6, fundraising wire fraud, dissemination of classified documents in New Jersey and more!
Trump threatened Jack Smith by saying if he arrests him there will be trouble because his MAGA supporters are more passionate now than they were in 2020. Another call to violence.
Trump is going to spend most of 2024 in court while running for president.
Hunter Biden’s lawyer filed an ethics complaint against Marjorie Taylor Greene for showing naked pictures of him in Congress.
The DOJ is suing Texas for taking over US federal immigration laws by installing a floating barrier in the Rio Grande designed to drown people. They have until the end of the day to take them out. Greg Abbott is intentionally killing people who are in search of a better life.
Florida is the only state where inflation is rising. It’s at 9%. Thanks to Biden, the rest of the country is at 3%. The state has malaria now. Since there is no leader at the health department, nothing is being done about the spread. DeSantis refused $377 million from the Biden administration for energy efficiency that would have created jobs and brought down utility bills. He fired people on his campaign because he’s running out of money because he’s bombing. All he can talk about is woke.
A lot of people in Florida who endured serious damage to their property during Hurricane Ian have yet to see any money from their insurance companies. Companies know they can string policy holders along because they can’t get insurance elsewhere. Many have been forced to sell their homes. Coastlines are still ravaged by the storm. Big conglomerates are going to move in and build massive structures like condos to make lots of money, ruining the feel of many beach communities. There’s crap everywhere and it’s not being cleaned up. DeSantis is disinterested. He’s too busy running for president and failing.
There are new educational standards in Florida that will teach kids that black people benefitted from slavery. They were more like unpaid interns because they picked up new skills.
California state superintendent Tony Thurmond attended a school board meeting in Chino to stand up for LGBTQ students who invited him to join them as they spoke out against a radical new policy that threatened their safety — the policy would make teachers out transgender students to their parents. When the superintendent was done speaking, the Christian nationalist board president who runs a “community Bible study,” Sonja Shaw, verbally attacked him and instructed the police to remove him. Tony Thurmond sponsored AB 1078, which would fine any district that bans books to promote discrimination, so he’s not popular with Christian nationalists.
It’s important to vote in every election so Christian nationalists don’t get elected to school boards. Local elections impact Americans’ lives in a much bigger and immediate way than national elections do. A Christian nationalist made it to school board president IN CALIFORNIA! Chino is not a red city, either. She won because not many people vote in local elections. Stop it!
Biden is strengthening American shipbuilding, supporting good union jobs, and bringing the offshore wind supply chain back home. Morgan Stanley is giving Biden all the credit for his economic policies because they drove an unexpected surge in the economy that is so significant that the bank had to make a “sizable upward revision” to its estimates for the US gross domestic product. They credit Bidenomics for driving a boom in large-scale infrastructure. Thanks, Biden!
