It’s getting worse. People keep dying, the government keeps lying, consumers stopped buying, unemployed people keep applying, Russia keeps spying, Republicans keep vying, Trump drills down on vilifying, and MAGAs are really revving up on defying and denying.
Trump is calling for insurrection by encouraging “liberation” on Twitter, targeting states with Democratic governors he doesn’t like. He’s taunting MAGAs with the threat that their governors are taking their second amendment rights away.
Armed MAGAs showed up outside of the governor’s residence in Michigan and chanted, OPEN UP! They popped up in other parts of the country, too, demanding that they be free to exercise their right to infect thousands of people with a deadly virus if they want to. Trump is cheering them on.
When confronted about inciting violence at his daily propaganda briefing, Trump responded with threatening more violence, “If you take a look at what’s going on in Virginia, they want to take away second amendment rights, that’s what they want to do…..These are people expressing their views.” He called the angry, armed, reckless, infectious MAGAs “responsible people” and that they had been “treated a little bit rough.” He claimed that the governor of Virginia “should be under siege.” Trump made a DIRECT incitement to violence ON NATIONAL TV and Republicans haven’t said a word.
The president of the United States is calling for civil unrest in the middle of one of the worst public health crises in America’s history.
Mary McCord, former Acting Assistant Attorney General and Deputy Assistant Attorney General for National Security at the DOJ and federal prosecutor had this to say about Trump’s “liberation” tweets: He’s encouraging citizens to take up arms “against duly elected state officials of the party opposite his own.”
Republican hypocrite fun fact: Trump keeps trying to pick fights with one of his many nemeses, New York’s Governor Andrew Cuomo. Trump said he should spend more time governing and less time holding press conferences.
Governor Cuomo kept his cool when asked about it at a press conference. “First of all, if he’s sitting home watching TV, maybe he should get up and go to work…… He’s doing nothing … All he’s doing is walking in front of the parade…..Why don’t you show as much consideration to states as you did to your big businesses and to your airlines?”
Every state without stay at home orders has seen increased coronavirus cases over the past week. South Dakota went up 205%, Iowa up 82%, Nebraska up 74%, Arkansas went up 60%, and Oklahoma went up 53%. Because the federal government has fixed it so we can’t do accurate testing these counts are low. The pandemic is just beginning.
Trump continues to take no responsibility for the spread. “Right now, nobody can be blamed. And there is no blame. We are all in a situation that was caused, that should have been solved long ago.”
Don’t blame me. I didn’t do it.
Trump says he’s getting calls from around the world from world leaders who are praising him for his response to the coronavirus pandemic.
Trump says he hasn’t left the White House for months which is verifiable bullshit. He golfed many times in February and March and attended a party at Mar-a-Lago in March that ended up being a coronavirus hot spot, prompting the closure of his gawdy plantation.
The Trump Plague is out of control. We’re at over 30,000 new cases and 2,500 deaths DAILY and he’s egging his deranged followers on to take up arms against the government.
