Losers
It was a great night for Democrats last night. Big wins in elections in states where abortion was on the ballot — Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
Democrats took control of the state legislature in Virginia. They retained the Senate and flipped the House, screwing things up for Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin. He had campaigned heavily on electing Republicans so they would pass his abortion ban. He lost because they lost. Voters showed up in an off election year to protect women. Transgenders won too, when voters elected Danica Roem, who is trans, to the state senate. She’s being doing a great job as a delegate in the house, and now she’ll do a great job as senator!
In Kentucky, Democratic Governor Andy Beshear (who has vetoed bills attacking transgender kids) won reelection by 5 points. Trump won Kentucky by 30 points in 2016 and 26 points in 2020 so this is a really great sign for Democrats. Republicans ran the state’s former Attorney General, Daniel Cameron, as a hard right alternative to Beshear. He is the guy who refused to press charges against the cops who broke into Breanna Taylor’s apartment and shot her while she slept in her bed. Daniel Cameron campaigned on a hard-core abortion ban with no exceptions. Beshear’s campaign ran an ad with a real-life rape victim who had been impregnated by her stepfather when she was 12. Hadley Duvall is 20 now and put herself out there to remind voters that if girls in Kentucky who are being raped and molested by family members get pregnant while Cameron is governor, they’ll be forced to carry their rapists baby to term.
Voters really turned out in Ohio to vote for protecting abortion in the state’s constitution. Abortion won by almost 60% of the vote (57% to 43%). Ohio is the eighth state to protect abortion rights since the corrupt activist Supreme Court overturned Roe Wade. Ohio voters negated legislation that Republicans have already passed. Republicans can’t fuck with abortion anymore in Ohio. Weed is legal now too. Ohio is looking more blue than purple!
Democratic candidate Judge Daniel McCaffrey won the race for Pennsylvania Supreme Court. He supports abortion rights. Democrats now have a 5–2 majority on the court so women can exhale in Pennsylvania today.
Former Republican US Senator in Pennsylvania, Rick Santorum, explained their loss last night by saying that abortion and weed were the secret sauce for Democrats in Ohio because that’s what enticed young people to go out and vote. He called abortion “sexy” and then said the quiet part out loud, “Pure democracies are not the way to run a country.”
Marjorie Taylor Greene said Republicans lost last night because they weren’t extreme enough on abortion. Don’t hold your breath, Marge. No wait. Do hold your breath. If you hold it long enough other states will turn blue.
City council candidate in Texas, Republican Brad Benson, got arrested for possessing child pornography.
City council candidate in New York, one of the exonerated members of the Central Park Five, Yusef Salaam, won his election. Trump had targeted him and four other teenagers who were charged and found guilty of raping a jogger by taking out full page ads in the New York Times calling for the death penalty. They were all innocent but wasted 6–13 years of their lives in jail before being exonerated. Trump had gone after them like he does the media, prosecutors, and Democrats now. The only way he could get into the New York Times back then was by paying for it. He was a tabloid character that only showed up in gossip magazines at the time, which he also paid for. Yusef Salaam won a seat on the New York City Council just in time for Trump to put up his defense in his civil trial in New York City, where he took out those ads 34 years ago.
Trump’s civil trial in New York adjourned really early yesterday because of election day. Trump fucked himself over by admitting on the stand Monday that he committed fraud. Now he can’t appeal. HA HA HA HA HA!
Ivanka has taken the stand, but not as a defendant. She has been called to answer questions about when she served as VP of development and acquisitions for the Trump Organization. She will no doubt want to use this opportunity to salvage her reputation. High society in New York kicked her and Jared out as soon as they got jobs working in Trump’s administration. They’re having a hard time fitting in with high society in Miami right now. They’ve been snubbed. Making this public appearance is going to be hard. If she tells the truth and admits they lied to banks she could face state and federal charges but if she lies under oath she could also face charges. She won’t be able to get away with striking a model’s pose and just standing there looking fabulous. She’s not fabulous. She’s Trump ugly.
Take heart, good people of America! The good news is the evil Republicans lost last night but the better news is that they aren’t going to be able to regroup and drill down on their demonic devious plans to destroy democracy because they’re a total mess as a party. It’s glorious to behold. Nobody is in charge and the lunatics have taken over the asylum. Pay no attention to the polls or the far-out lefties who are blaming Biden for the war in Gaza. Threatening to vote against Biden is an empty threat. They aren’t going to vote anyway.
