Lying Liars Lying About Lying

Marjorie Taylor Greene blew off important work in DC to spend Christmas vacation in Costa Rica. During the most consequential week for Congress, the anti gay divorcee, the liar who has been blabbing about being subservient to her husband because she’s such a good Christian when the whole time she was lying about boinking men who weren’t her husband, was partying it up in a foreign country. She’ll lie about the great time she had. The lying liar will lie there and wait the whole time.
Brett Kavanaugh, the Supreme Court justice who lied about all sorts of things during his confirmation hearing and got pushed through anyway, attended a private holiday party at the home of CPAC chairman Matt Schlapp along with Stephen Miller, whose group America First Legal Foundation has interests in cases now pending before the Supreme Court. Other guests included liars Matt Gaetz, Sean Spicer, and Sebastian Gorka.
It was a hell of a Christmas week in Washington — it started off with the Select Committee referring Donald J Trump, former president of the United States, to the DOJ for prosecution, then the Ways and Means Committee made Trump’s taxes public, followed by the release of the Select Committee’s report which is chock full of lies from criminals who all participated in an attempted coup. The House passed a bill that requires the IRS to conduct annual audits of the president’s tax returns since the IRS failed to do so for 2 years under Trump. Every Democrat voted for it. 201 Republicans voted against it. Now why would anybody be against making auditing presidents’ taxes a law so we’ll know if they’re a criminal or a traitor? Those 201 Republicans are still signed on to the Big Lie.
More has been revealed about how much George Santos lied about himself to get elected to Congress. He lied about everything. Nobody really knows who this guy is. The New York Times outed him and then people went nuts on social media, sharing more lies that they discovered about him. In response to getting found out, George Santos tweeted: To the people of #NY03 I have my story to tell and it will be told next week. I want to assure everyone that I will address your questions and that I remain committed to deliver the results I campaigned on; Public safety, Inflation, Education & more.
Why a week? Does he need to workshop his reply first?
George Santos claimed to have been gay for a decade, but he divorced a woman in 2019. Two weeks after the divorce he filed the official paperwork to launch his 2020 campaign. Is running as the first openly gay Republican the new brand? Is the GOP workshopping this?
George Santos lied about having Jewish grandparents who fled the Holocaust. That’s a big fat lie. His grandparents were from Brazil. When he got caught he said, “I never claimed to be Jewish. I said I was ‘Jew-ish.’”
The New York attorney general is investigating George Santos. It won’t matter, though. The Republicans will still seat him in a couple of weeks. They don’t care one bit that he lies so much. Their president did it too and they stood by him through lie after lie after lie. It’s what they do.
The Trump era is a pro-lie era. There are no consequences for it. Nobody is shocked by it. Everybody expects it. Trump lied over 30,000 times while in office and he’s running again. People accept this. He could win, and if he does, the Republicans will stand by their lies. His and theirs. Led by Trump’s #1 enabler of the Big Lie, Kevin McCarthy. The new McCarthyism.
Alabama Congressman Mo Brooks, who was all in on the Big Lie and helped with the insurrection, now says that Trump is “dishonest, disloyal, incompetent, crude.” He thinks Republicans should get away from him. That’s really something coming from a liar’s liar.
Right wing media, Republican voters and Republicans in Congress are all stuck in a feedback loop that is all based in fantasy and lies. They can’t distinguish truth from lies anymore. They don’t live in reality.
Remember when the repugs couldn’t take down Bill Clinton any other way but to set him up to lie about a blow job under oath? The modern Republican era of lying and cheating started back when Newt Gingrich was Speaker. He led the hunt to get Clinton to lie about sex with an intern while he himself was having sex with an intern. His response? “Ya, but I didn’t do it under oath.” The Republicans started normalizing “lie in your face” politics back in the early 90s. It’s not new. It’s just gotten so bad that the damage has extended beyond hatred for Democrats. Democracy itself is in jeopardy. Republicans are a cancerous growth on the great American experiment. The tumor needs to be removed entirely in order for the host to survive.
