Mad Mad World
The House Judiciary Committee held its first open impeachment inquiry hearing and invited 3 constitutional law scholars and a Republican tool to answer questions about the law and impeachment. The 3 scholars all agreed that the impeachment clause was written specifically for this moment and a president like Trump. The other guy, Jonathan Turley, was all about slowing the impeachment train down so Trump could win re-election. He thinks that the bar has been lowered to impeach Trump because people are mad. Too much anger, he said. The bar was just right for Clinton, though. He testified before Congress in 1998 and said that threshold test for impeachment had been met by the president lying about his personal sex life under oath. According to Jonathan Turley and the Republicans, lying about an affair is impeachable but trying to cheat in an election by bribing another country is not.
Damn straight people are mad.
Stanford Law School’s Professor Pamela Karlan made the Republicans mad. She got in ranking member Doug Collins’ face by letting him know that she wouldn’t be taking any of his shit that day. He accused her of not reading any testimony before the hearing and she threw it right back in his face, “I am insulted by the suggestion as a law professor that I do not care about those facts.” How dare that traitor accuse of her not preparing for her testimony. She hit him and the committee hard with impeachable facts, “The very idea that a president might seek the aid of a foreign government in his reelection campaign would have horrified (the Founders). But based on the evidentiary record, that is what President Trump has done.” In trying to make the point that the US president is not a king she used a pun which the Republicans used to discredit her. She said that Trump can name his kid Barron but he can’t make him a baron. The horror! The Democrats disrespected the first family and dragged a minor child into the political ring! Don’t listen to a word Professor Karlan says! She’s a liberal political hack! She later apologized but it was too late. The GOP took it and ran. They dragged Barron into politics by using the incident to eat up media time and feign fake outrage to ask for money. They aren’t really defending Barron. They’re using him to defend themselves. Mike Pence said the impeachment hearings reached a new low –Democrats used the president and the first lady’s 13 year old son to justify their partisan impeachment. Never mind why the president is being impeached or that the president and the Third Lady have done enough herself to humiliate and embarrass her son.
So somebody made a pun based on a kid’s name. Melania went to children’s concentration camps that her wanna be baron husband built wearing a jacket with “I don’t care, do U?” written on the back.
Melanie…….you’re a gold digger and a fraud and you fit right in with the Trump crime family. We don’t care if you’re mad.
If the Republican party had any integrity or self respect it would have been horrified by the show that Republican committee members put on yesterday. The worst of the worst are on this committee so of course all the fake rage played off as a clown shit show — Louie Gohmert, Matt Gaetz, Doug Collins, Gym Jordan, John Ratcliffe. They’re a bunch of mad hatter tea party boobs and the best the GOP has got.
The Republicans have no defense. That’s why they’re mad.
Rudy is in Ukraine right now doing the same thing over and over hoping for different results because he’s gone mad.
Trump made the cover of The Times in London for being laughed out of the country by world leaders. He can frame the cover and hang it next to the fake picture of him on the cover of Time in his tacky club where all of the fake people pay to gather and pretend to be somebody they’re not.
The Biden campaign has put out a brilliant new ad of actual moments where people are laughing at Trump. This will get under Trump’s skin like nothing else. Well played and well deserved. This is going to make him so mad he’s thinking up a come back tweet for it right now. And another one. And another one.
Speaker Pelosi addressed the nation this morning and asked the House Judiciary Committee to start drafting up articles of impeachment. She cited the Founders and her delivery was very somber. She made the nation cry. The American people have been so mad and so fearful for so long they forgot what it was like to grieve for their country.
