The former FBI informant charged with lying about the Bidens to the FBI, Alexander Smirnov, was re-arrested after being let go by a magistrate judge in Nevada. Prosecutors want to keep him behind bars because he’s got access to $6 million and has an Israeli passport.
The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) is going on now in Maryland. It used to be a well attended event for mainstream conservatives and now it’s sparsely attended with QAnon weirdos and Trump groupies. Speakers are straight up fascists. Trump is the keynote speaker. Elise Stefanik and Kristi Noem are there to kiss his butt. Insurrectionist members of congress Matt Gaetz, Tommy Tuberville and Jim Jordan are there, as well as Steve Bannon, Mike Lindell, and Kari Lake. Right wing media personality Jack Posobiec took the stage and said, “I just wanted to say welcome to the end of democracy. We’re here to overthrow it completely, we didn’t get all the way there on January 6th, but we will endeavor to get rid of it and replace it with this right here, we’ll replace it with this right here.” NBC Nightly News interviewed an attendee without mentioning that she was a convicted January 6 rioter who threatened to murder Nancy Pelosi. Another reporter asked US Senator Tommy Tuberville of Alabama what he thought about the Alabama Supreme Court ruling that frozen embryos were people. He said, “I was all for it. We need to have more kids.”
New York State Attorney General Letitia James said that she is prepared to seize Donald Trump’s assets, including his skyscrapers, if he is unable to find the cash to pay off a $355 million fine from his fraud trial. He was given 30 days to appeal but he’ll have to put up a bond for the same amount and he doesn’t have that much cash. No bank in New York can give him a loan. He can’t put up his properties with a bonding company because he lied about the value and they’re heavily leveraged. He’ll have to go bankrupt again.
Supreme Court Justice Alito is worried that homophobes are being discriminated against. He said people who are opposed to homosexuality are in danger of being silenced and can be labeled as bigots. Nobody should be judged for their religious beliefs if being gay is a sin. He wants the court to reconsider same sex marriage and doesn’t want gay people to serve as jurors for cases about gay people.
In an ad for Black History Month, President Biden mentioned gains Black Americans have made during his tenure. Black entrepreneurship has hit record highs during his presidency. Trump bragged that his $399 sneakers should be a big hit with the blacks.
President Biden announced more than 500 new sanctions on Russia to further punish Putin after Russian opposition leader Navalny was murdered in a Siberian prison.
President Biden killed $1.2 billion in student loans in one day. 153,000 borrowers who were enrolled in his new loan repayment program who borrowed $12,000 or less and have been paying for at least 10 years can breathe a sigh of relief because from now on they’ll be saving that money. The never ending interest is now over. A total of $138 billion has been discharged for 3.9 million borrowers thanks to Biden’s dozens of administrative actions. These aren’t big loans, but they are to the people who owe them. The value is equal to that of a used car and now the car is paid off. Haters are acting like Biden is giving anybody who wants one a new Ferrari. Republicans are mad because they say this student loan forgiveness program discriminates against their voters — dumbasses who didn’t go to college.
The corporate media has been ignoring the student loan programs success because Biden is so old. Biden’s student debt cancellation has to be the least appreciated action ever. Biden found ways to cut college debt in spite of the Supreme Court and the Republicans. The workarounds he is coming up with are because he has brilliant lawyers working on this and they keep finding ways to help people.
Joe Biden’s campaign is killing it in fundraising — mostly $200 donations. That means that an awful lot of regular people who will be voting for him are sending his campaign their hard earned money, so the approval ratings and polls must be wrong. Pay no attention to what the talking heads and media are saying.
Biden is ranked as the 14th best president but he’ll be moving up. He passed the only gun safety reform in over 50 years. He has overseen the lowest unemployment, strongest economy, and the biggest manufacturing boom in decades and was the first president to stand with workers on the picket lines. He fights for women’s reproductive rights and that includes abortion even though he’s Catholic. He has made the biggest inroads of any president for the environment. His climate change initiatives have been off the charts.
Biden doesn’t get nearly as much credit as he deserves but he doesn’t seem to be bothered by that. He just keeps plodding along, doing his job, and taking all the attacks and BS in stride. He’ll move up in the greatest presidents charts. He knows that but he would never say it.
