New filings show that there were actually 8 search warrants issued in the Trump classified documents case. Funny, Trump never mentioned that.
Democratic Congressman Ted Lieu from California called Trump out for being a rapist on the House floor, citing the District Court Judge who had just rejected Trump’s request for a new trial. The judge “confirmed that Donald Trump raped E. Jean Carroll.”
Governor Greg Abbott refused to comply with the federal government’s demand that he remove his floating border wall made of buoy and razor wire designed to drown people. He accused Biden of creating “the crisis” so now he has the constitutional authority to keep making a crisis out of the border to keep their blood thirsty, immigrant hating voters well fed and satisfied. If Greg Abbott succeeds, he could give Republicans more power under the guise of “state rights” a la Plessy v. Ferguson of 1896 (a Black man in Louisiana, Homer Plessy, paid full price for a train ticket but wasn’t allowed to sit in the front cars with the white people so he sued and lost. The Supreme Court held that state-mandated segregation laws did not violate the equal protection clause of the Fourteenth Amendment, thus ushering in Jim Crow). Red states could be given the right to force “equal but separate” policies on immigrants and everybody who isn’t white.
The DOJ is suing Greg Abbott and Texas.
Yesterday would have been Emmett Till’s 82nd birthday. Emmett was the 14 year old boy from Chicago was visiting relatives in Mississippi for the summer of 1955. A white woman named Carolyn Bryant accused him of whistling at her in a store (she admitted decades later that she lied) so two white men in the town, Roy Bryant and his half-brother J.W. Milam, kidnapped him, tortured him for hours, killed him and threw him in the river. The men were tried and acquitted after just one hour by an all white male jury even though everybody knew they did it (and they even confessed to it years later in an interview with Look magazine). Emmett’s mom insisted that his casket be open at his funeral so the country could see what white supremacists did to her son. The body of her mutilated, bloated boy made the cover of many newspapers, shocking the country, just like she wanted. Every sign that has been erected to mark the place where Emmett’s body had been retrieved from the river has been vandalized by white supremacists. There is a new sign now. It’s 500 pounds and bullet proof.
To commemorate Emmett Till’s birthday, President Joe Biden established a national monument to commemorate his legacy, whose murder helped ignite the civil rights movement, and his mother, Mamie Till-Mobley. There are 3 sites for this new monument — the place where his body was taken out of the river, the courthouse where his killers were set free, and the church in Chicago where Emmett’s funeral took place.
At the proclamation signing, Vice President Kamala Harris, our first female Black vice president said, “Our history as a nation is born of tragedy and triumph. Of struggle and success. That is who we are. As people who love our country, as patriots, we know that we must remember and teach our full history, even when it is painful. Especially when it is painful… those who attempt to teach that enslaved people benefited from slavery… let us not be seduced into believing that somehow we will be better if we forget. We will be better if we remember.”
In March of 2022, Biden signed the Emmett Till Antilynching Act, making lynching a federal hate crime. It took a long time to get it passed because Republicans were against it.
Meanwhile in Florida — kids are being taught that slavery was good for Black people and they liked it.
Things aren’t looking too good for Republicans running for president. Nikki Haley never thought she could win, she’s auditioning for VP. She said she’ll support Trump if he becomes the Republican nominee. Mike Pence is doing so poorly that he may not qualify for the first debate. Primary voters think he should have stopped the count on January 20. Ron DeSantis is so broke he had to lay another 1/3 of his campaign staff off. The nominee is going to be Trump, a twice impeached, and almost thrice indicted (and counting) criminal. The people who support floating killing walls, white washed history, women’s servitude, and “states rights” will all vote for Trump. They give him more money every time he’s indicted and arrested. He’s a martyr for their cause — white supremacy.

The Freedom Caucus wants to impeach Joe Biden and “expunge” Trump’s impeachments.
The neutered Senate is about to break for a 5 week recess but before they go are approving a resolution that recognizes “the importance of the blueberry industry to the United States and designating July 2023 as National Blueberry Month.” These guys make $174,000 a year and they don’t do much. That’s a lot of blueberries.
Rudy Giuliani admitted that he lied when he accused the mother/daughter election workers in Georgia of stealing ballots in a new court filing related to their defamation lawsuit. They’re suing the shit out of Rudy for ruining their lives.
In women’s rights news, a proposed constitutional amendment guaranteeing access to abortion in Ohio will be on the November ballot. In Iowa, Republican Governor Kim Reynolds signed a 6 week abortion ban on July 14 but then a judge blocked it. The state’s Supreme Court is leaving it alone so abortion is available until 22 weeks. Teenager Celeste Burgess in Nebraska was sentenced to 90 days in jail for taking an abortion pill. The boy who got her pregnant was not punished.
More good news about the job performance of Joe Biden. He has overseen the first, second, AND third largest business formations in American history. He keeps breaking historical records and the Republicans are going to try and impeach him.
President Biden’s dog, Commander, has bitten Secret Service officers 10 times. Perhaps Commander knows something the bitten doesn’t want us to know…….good boy.
