Moms for Fascism
The white supremacist group, Moms for Liberty, held a conference in Philadelphia, the Moms for Liberty Joyful Warriors National Summit. The city hung trans flags on flag poles surrounding the Marriott where the event was held. Protesters hung door hangers from hotel room door handles of all the white moms’ rooms who were staying there that read, “Please disturb — fascism in progress. Did you know a designated hate group is staying in this hotel?” (Moms for Liberty was named as one of 12 extremist groups in the Southern Poverty Law Center’s annual “Year in Hate and Extremism” report). The other side of the door hangers read, “AGENDA PAC welcomes you to the Gayborhood! Hate has no place in Philly. Get Moms for Liberty out of our city.” Outside of the hotel, protesters booed the Hitler quoting moms as they arrived by chartered buses — “Hey hey ho ho! These moms for Hitler have got to go! Shame! Shame! Shame!” The moms walked by all smug in their whiteness and filmed the protesters with their phones as the Klanned Karenhood that they are. Other protesters gave banned books away.
Trump made an appearance. He got booed as he drove through the city. He stopped for a Philly cheese steak for a photo op and got booed and flipped off. In his speech to the 500 Republican moms attending the conference he said that once elected, he’ll allow the moms to elect principals every year so they can vote them out whenever they don’t do what they want them to do.
Ron DeSantis showed up and spoke about abolishing woke. Every other word was, “woke.” He had pizza with some of them. Moms for Liberty is headquartered in Florida. DeSantis’s team took a picture of them enjoying their traditional kid food — blinded by the white. DeSantis’s wife, Casey, dragged one of her kids on stage to campaign in a roundabout kind of way. Their kids are 5, 4, and 2. Where will they be going to school?
Betsy DeVos, Trump’s education secretary who had no experience with education, made a speech and said that she thought the Department of Education should not exist.
Some of the Strategy Session Topics for the conference were: Comprehensive Sex Education: Sex Ed Or Sexualization, Faith Of The Founders, Dark Money’s Infiltration In Education — And How To Fight It, Protecting Kids From Gender Ideology, The First 100 Days: Getting Flipped School Boards To Take Action.
They promote themselves as a grassroots organization and say their main source of funding comes from donations and t-shirt sales but that’s not true. Heavy hitters in the conservative movement give them money and advice such as The Heritage Foundation, the Leadership Institute, and Julie Fancelli who underwrote much of the costs of the January 6 insurrection. Sponsors for the event made hefty donations starting at $100,000.
They may look like ordinary moms but much like the Tea Party, they’re being used by far right dark forces who have made them the face of “parents’ rights.” They don’t mean every parent and they don’t mean every right. Right wing think tanks and political organizations give them money and advice. Their tag line is “we’re joyful warriors” but they’re hell bent on taking over school boards so they can force their far right, white supremacist agenda on all kids. The organization was founded in early 2021 but in 19 short months they have more than 100,000 members in 200 chapters across 38 states. That’s not grassroots. They are organized and well funded.
What do they stand for? White supremacy, heterosexuality, traditional marriage, the Second Amendment, keeping the “progressive movement” from preying on their children, no COVID vaccines and masks. Their enemy is the woke left, altruism, school boards, the government, and socialists.
One of the speakers at the event said that public schools were like Chinese communist reeducation programs. “You have to understand…that you’re sending your children to Maoist thought-reform prisons” and that parents need to “fix this system to get this crap seen and identified for the crime against humanity that it is and pulled out of the schools. You’re war moms, you got this.” The joyful warriors clapped and cheered.
ABC normalized and legitimized the fascist hate group by elevating them and calling Moms for Liberty joyful warriors who are just mad at teachers, principals and the president. The training they’ve received is working. They know how to manipulate the media.
