Mug Shots Round 1
The first mug shots are in. Attorney John Eastman, bail bondsman Scott Hall, and former Georgia GOP chairman and state legislator David Shafer have all turned themselves in to the Fulton County Jail and have been processed for charges made against them for trying to overturn the 2020 presidential election in Georgia. David Shafer smiled for his mug shot. He’s proudly using it for his social media profile pic. Former Coffee County GOP chair Cathy Latham, lawyer Ray Smith, and Trump campaign attorney Kenneth Chesebro were booked this morning but their mugshots haven’t been released yet.
Rudy is on his way. He couldn’t find a Georgia based lawyer to defend him so he’s got a public defender —the type of attorney that he has always looked down upon as liberal failures.
Many of Trump’s co-defendants in the Fulton County case were promised complimentary attorneys but Trump stiffed them. He raised a bunch of money for various candidates who have never seen any money either. That could be indictment #5.
Trump has negotiated his surrender at the Fulton County jail to take place during peak viewing hours for cable news on Thursday to get maximum television ratings. His trial in Georgia will be televised.
Mark Meadows wants special treatment and has asked for an extension but was told no. Fani Willis gave him and everybody else 2 weeks to surrender which she said was more than courteous. She let him know that he won’t be treated any differently than anybody else and if he doesn’t show up on Friday she’ll issue a warrant for his arrest.
A key witness in Trump’s Mar-a-Lago documents case has dropped his complimentary Trump lawyer in exchange for a public defender and has retracted the false testimony he gave to the grand jury saying he didn’t remember having any conversations with anybody about destroying security camera footage evidence. He’s employee #4, the IT guy.
Jack Smith has revealed in the Mar-a-Lago classified docs case that the DC grand jury wrapped up its work last week. The Florida judge, Aileen Cannon, would like to know why there are 2 grand juries for this case. This should be HER case. Aileen Cannon is too inexperienced and too friendly with Trump to oversee this historical case. She’s a problem.
The fascists in the Tennessee legislature have made news again. Republicans, who hold the supermajority, tried to hold a secret meeting on protecting guns over people. When the Democrats and members of the public tried to call them out on it they were kicked out.
When Democrat Justin Jones stood up to speak, Speaker Cameron Sexton cut off his mic. Jones had just been sworn in for a second time after he was kicked out of the legislature by the Republicans for leading a march to the state capital demanding gun laws back in April after a school shooter shot and killed 6 people in Nashville, 3 of whom were kids. Republicans didn’t let bereaved parents or the media participate in their hearing on arming teachers instead of making laws to make it harder for killers to kill. Moms held up 8 ½ x 11 sized pieces of paper that read, 1 child is greater than all the guns. The cops threw them out. One of them asked, on her way out, if guns were still allowed in the capital. Guns yes, notebook paper and moms no. In the rotunda, one woman read aloud from a children’s book, “Joaquin’s First School Shooting” by Joaquin’s mom, Patricia Padauy. Joaquin was shot and killed at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida 5 years ago.
Parents whose kids had been shot and killed got kicked out of a Tennessee House subcommittee session by the Republicans. This is fascism in America. A legislature roped off the public and the press and conducted its business in secret using state troopers to enforce its disregard of the Constitution.
Speaking of being denied entrance, Fox News 86’d Junior and his awful girlfriend, Kimberly Guilfoyle from the Republican debates tonight. Junior says it’s because Fox is retaliating against them and “rigging the debate” because his dad 86’d himself.
During the debate tonight, the Biden campaign will be flooding the Fox News website with Dark Brandon ads. One ad reads, “Get real, Jack. We’re bringing Roe back.”
Fox News blamed Biden for letting Hurricane Hillary cross the southern border.
