Mugshot Round 3 — Trump

The moment most normal people have been waiting for 2 ½ years is finally here. Trump was booked on charges in Georgia for trying to overturn the 2020 election so he could be king forever. He left his private club in New Jersey, escorted by Secret Service, 20 motorcycle cops, 15 cop cars and an ambulance to convey his importance — I am the president. It was a highly produced production with Trump serving as producer, as usual.

The reality TV president scripted his booking to coincide with prime time cable news coverage. He was going for media spectacle but he didn’t pull it off. It was pathetic. He was alone. Very few people showed up to support him. The roads in Atlanta were closed. He filmed the drive from inside his motorcade, expecting the streets to be lined with MAGA supporters. As he drove towards the jail, commentators mocked him. It was gross. No drama or MAGA chaos at the jail. It was orderly and uneventful. Trump was no longer in control of his glamorous reality TV production once his motorcade cameras stopped rolling and he was inside the jail. He’s inmate #2313827. His self-reported weight is 215 pounds and his height is 6’3” which is an obvious lie. A mug shot was taken which broke the internet. He’d been practicing his look in the mirror — “irate and scary.”

He used his mug shot right away to fundraise. Never surrender!

The process was short and quiet. Very few MAGAs turned out to get a glimpse of their hero and wave their admiration. He went back to the airport and gave a short speech before boarding his private plane which wasn’t the mega MAGA finale he was going for.

He was alone again. No family or friends.

Marjorie Taylor Greene showed up outside of the jail but got heckled. She’s one of the MAGAs who made a mugshot of herself out of solidarity with Trump.

Trump’s Atlanta based attorney quit (or was fired) an hour before he was booked.

Trump used a local bail bondsman. That’s not unusual for anyone who is not supposedly a billionaire.

Earlier in the day, Mark Meadows, Trump’s former White House chief of staff, surrendered at the jail. Harrison Floyd was booked, too. He’s the black voices for Trump guy. He didn’t negotiate a bond so he has to sit in jail. This morning, 5 more people turned themselves in: Shawn Still, a state senator, Michael Roman, a GOP operative, Jeffrey Clark, the ex-DOJ official, Misty Hampton, a rural elections department ex-employee, and Robert Cheeley, a local lawyer. They’re all in so much trouble.

Fulton County prosecutors asked the judge to set the trial date in October. Trump could be a convicted felon by the end of the year.

People going to jail for Trump will be sitting in a cell long after he’s dead and buried.

House Republicans are going to investigate Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis for prosecuting Trump. Jim Jordan asked for all records pertaining to the case. He won’t get them but that won’t stop him from making an ass out himself by calling bogus hearings.

630 people have pleaded guilty for their participation in the attack on the Capitol. Co-conspirators have been arrested in Georgia. Trump has been indicted twice for plotting a coup. His cult followers are ignoring these facts and will make a martyr out of him if convicted. He is their friend. He is their guy. It doesn’t matter what he says or does, or what law enforcement says and does, he is their hero and they’ll vote for him again no matter what.

Trump is a full-time criminal defendant who doesn’t have to campaign because everybody voting for him is in love with him and will do anything for him. He can’t stand them.

All Trump ever wanted was to be one of the cool kids. He wanted them to love and admire him the way his cult followers do. The ugliest, meanest, dumbest suckers in the country worship him and now he’s stuck with them. He never got the attention and respect of the cool kids so he is using his followers and servants to exact his revenge.

Trump’s mug shot will be one of the most famous presidential portraits in American history. There was Washington crossing the Delaware, Lincoln on the five dollar bill, the Obama “HOPE” poster, Teddy Roosevelt on Mt Rushmore, Reagan the cowboy, and Trump’s mugshot, representing the time when the great American experiment almost failed.
