Trump is trying, breathlessly, to spin getting the Trump Plague to his advantage by leaving the hospital early to film a video of him appearing to be triumphant over the virus which is nothing more than the common flu. After making Central Casting spin doctor Dr. Conley go out and lie for him earlier in the day, he tweeted: I will be leaving the great Walter Reed Medical Center today at 6:30 P.M. Feeling really good! Don’t be afraid of Covid. Don’t let it dominate your life. We have developed, under the Trump Administration, some really great drugs & knowledge. I feel better than I did 20 years ago!
Feeling 54, he walked out of Walter Reed Hospital (they should have just thrown open the doors and let that fucker walk home) and sauntered majestically to his presidential caravan where he was escorted to Marine One, flown back to the White House and uncustomarily dropped off at a spot so he could walk up the exterior steps of the South Portico triumphantly so he could pose on the balcony, rip off his mask, and stand there like Mussolini, gasping for air. After he was satisfied that enough flattering pictures were taken, he turned his back and immediately began filming his great comeback video with the Washington Monument in the background, putting the video team and his staff in grave danger because he’s HIGHLY CONTAGIOUS WITH A DEADLY DISEASE. He looked into the camera, and trying to look tough said, “As your leader, I had to do that. I knew there’s danger to it. But I had to do it. I stood out front. I led. Nobody that’s a leader would not do what I did … Now I’m better. Maybe I’m immune. I dunno.” The video was in the can and posted ASAP.

His campaign is trying to spin Trump getting the coronavirus as a benefit to all Americans because now he’s had it and can report back that like he’s always said, it’s not that big of a deal. He wants to portray himself as a conquering hero for the rest of the campaign. He’s victorious over covid! He beat it! He’s strong! Trump gets it! Biden doesn’t get it because he’s never had it. He lacks “firsthand experience.”
Wait until the steroids wear off.

As of noon Monday, there are 33 people who have contracted the coronavirus who can be easily traced back to Trump. They are: Trump, the Third Lady, Kayleigh McEnany, Karoline Leavitt, Chad Gilmartin, Greg Laurie, Hope Hicks, Kellyanne Conway, Chris Christie, Mike Lee, Thom Tillis, Ron Johnson, Ronna McDaniel, John Jenkins, Bill Stepien, Nick Luna, 1 White House junior staffer, 2 housekeepers, 3 reporters, and 11 people from the debate staff.
Trump is a super spreader. No other place in Washington DC has more new cases. The White House is a coronavirus cluster.
A Cornell research study found that Trump has been the single largest driver of misinformation about the pandemic and now he’s back in the White House, contaminating more staff members and continuing to lie about how serious it is.
One of the White House reporters who was infected says he has received ZERO outreach from the White House — no contact tracing at all. The White House is refusing to trace the contacts of guests and staff members at the September 26 Rose Garden celebration for Judge Amy Coney Barrett because it’s highly likely that everything can be traced back to Trump which could hurt him politically so NOPE. No contract tracing. Let them eat cake and die.
2 White House housekeepers tested positive but didn’t get the Walter Reed treatment. They were told to use “discretion” when discussing it. The CDC offered to identify people who they came in contact with but the White House said NO.
If Trump was counting on a sympathy bounce in the polls he didn’t get it. A CNN poll has him losing by 17 points.
He’s hopped up on drugs, thinking he’s invincible, while the families and friends of 211,000 dead Americans are grieving because of him, and 7 million are suffering with the virus and the after effects because of him, reminding us to be very afraid of the coronavirus AND the president of the United States.
The Trump team is spinning the coronavirus this morning as being comparable with the seasonal flu which is “far more lethal.”
