No Big Deal

Sean Hannity did another townhall with Trump. It wasn’t a big deal because he does these “exclusive interviews” with Trump all the time. Hannity got to ride on Marine One like he’s a big deal. He got on ahead of Trump, saluted the marines before boarding and the marines saluted him in return. WTF? Sean Hannity is nothing more than an over paid TV personality (which makes him a big deal to the Reality TV president.)

Hannity asked, “If you hear in 131 days from now at some point in the night or early morning, ‘We can now project Donald J. Trump has been re-elected the 45th president of the United States’ — let’s talk. What’s at stake in this election as you compare and contrast, and what are your top priority items for a second term?” Trump’s incoherent, ridiculous, embarrassing, bullshit answer: “Well one of the things that will be really great….you know, the word experience is still good. I always say talent is more important than experience. I’ve always said that. But the word experience is a very important word. It’s a very important meaning. I never did this before, I never slept over in Washington. I was in Washington I think 17 times, all of a sudden I’m the president of the United States, you know the story, I’m riding down Pennsylvania Avenue with our First Lady and I say, ‘This is great.’ But I didn’t know very many people in Washington, it wasn’t my thing. I was from Manhattan, from New York. Now I know everybody. And I have great people in the administration. You make some mistakes, like you know an idiot like Bolton, all he wanted to do is drop bombs on everybody. You don’t have to drop bombs on everybody. You don’t have to kill people.”

Trump is killing people by blowing off the pandemic and purposely putting people in danger by telling them to not wear masks because the coronavirus is just a little cold and no big deal. He downplayed testing — “If we didn’t do testing, we’d have no cases. There are so many names to this, I could name 19 names like Corona 19.”

The audience tried to look informed and interested because hey! We’re on TV! We’re a big deal!

When asked what his biggest accomplishments have been, Trump took credit for stuff Obama did, making himself out to be a big deal. The audience nodded and smiled.

Trump complimented Hannity for being an “honest journalist.”

“I’m not a journalist. I’m a talk radio host.” — Sean Hannity, April 2016

The mayor of New York City is having “Black Lives Matter” painted on the street in front of Trump Tower.

Trump tweeted: Black Lives Matter leader states, “If U.S. doesn’t give us what we want, then we will burn down this system and replace it”. This is Treason, Sedition, Insurrection!

While everybody else called for Bill Barr’s resignation or impeachment, members of the Freedom Caucus (all white men, one in a MAGA a hat, only a few wore masks) held a press conference and called on Barr to protect churches, monuments, and businesses. They claimed that rioters are trying to sanitize symbols of history because they don’t understand our history. Radicals are hijacking our cities! Democrats are beating up and emasculating the police! Thank God Donald Trump is president! Trump! Marxists! Anarchists! Insurrectionists! Bolshevik style revolution! Antifa! Black Lives Matter! Arrest them all, Bill Barr!

Republicans are so afraid of Trump that they won’t even answer whether or not the coronavirus is a big deal or if they think people should wear masks.

Republican hypocrite fun fact: Senators Rick Scott and Marco Rubio are forced now to make public comments acknowledging the existence of the coronavirus in Florida because Governor DeSantis can’t suppress the infection and death rates any longer. The truth is coming out. It’s a big deal. Marco Rubio tried to calm the situation by asking people to look at the bright side, “95% of the people who test positive, who get infected are not going to die.” No big deal.

Put another way, the death rate from the Trump Plague is 5%. If every kid in a typical public elementary school tested positive, 5 kids in each grade level would die. That’s a total of 30 kids per school. No big deal. Look at the bright side! Fewer kids means less money we have to spend on public education!

According to scientists, we’re in deep shit. The University of Washington’s Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation concluded that if 95% of Americans wore face masks in public, it could prevent 33,000 deaths by October 1. People won’t wear masks so 33,000 more people will die by October 1.

The CDC says the coronavirus cases may be 10 times higher than reported. No big deal.

We beat yesterday’s record for new cases of coronavirus. Today we should beat yesterday.

No big deal.
