Yesterday was the 22nd anniversary of 9/11. A double rainbow appeared above New York City to cheer people up.
Yesterday, Marjorie Taylor Greene called for red states “to consider seceding from the union” because of Biden’s “traitorous” policies. A sitting US member of Congress called for secession on the 22nd anniversary of 9/11.
Two groups in two different states (Colorado and Minnesota) have filed suits to keep Trump’s name off of the ballot, based on Section 3 of the 14th amendment which was written to keep confederates from running for office after the Civil War. Southern Confederates were traitors to their country. They tried to leave and make their own country because its economy depended on slavery and they liked it that way, so the United States (also known as the North) went to war with the racist southerners to free the slaves and preserve the union. They won and the great American experiment carried on. The South wants to give it another try. That’s why they want Trump on the ballot. Trump loves dumb southern racists like Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Southerner Tim Scott had to come up with a girlfriend to keep campaigning for president so he found one in Canada but he doesn’t want to talk about her. The other senator from his state (South Carolina), Lindsey Graham, doesn’t have a girlfriend either. Hee hee hee hee.
Confederate fun fact: The Civil War started in South Carolina. The first shot was fired at Fort Sumter. Black people outnumbered white people after the Civil War in South Carolina. The state legislature had a Black majority for 5 years during Reconstruction until the Ku Klux Klan drove them all out.
Second Amendment fun fact: Slaves could never own guns because their owners feared they’d kill them if they did. They got to have guns during the Civil War so they could help fight (if it weren’t for them, the North would have lost) but afterwards their guns were taken away even though they were free citizens. That’s always been OK with dumb southern racists, the NRA, and Republicans because they don’t want Black people to have guns. When the Black Panthers came along, they proudly displayed their guns. One time they gathered in the upper gallery of the state capital in California to look in on the legislatures down below, guns in hand. Governor Ronald Reagan was all for gun control after that.
Elon Musk is working with Russia to help them win the war with Ukraine by turning off the communications system he owns that both sides rely upon. An American citizen is helping our enemy win a war with our ally in a really big way. A filthy rich American citizen is brokering foreign policy. That’s another really good reason why we need to tax the shit out of the rich. Nobody should have that much money.
Trump wants Judge Tanya Chutkan to recuse herself from his DC case because she has made statements in other insurrectionist cases that basically referred to defendants as dumb shits for following Trump’s orders. She referred to them as having a “blind loyalty to a man who remains free to this day.”
Trump’s legal team says they want to call senators to testify in his DC trial to show that Trump wasn’t the only one who believed that he was the real winner.
Trump wants his Georgia case moved to federal court even though Mark Meadows pulled that and failed. Like Meadows, Trump would have to testify and there is no way his cut rate lawyers would let him do that.
There’s an escaped convict on the run in Pennsylvania. He’s armed because he was able to grab a rifle out of someone’s garage because guns are everywhere. He was in jail for murdering 2 people. So much for the NRA’s “the only thing that can stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun” argument. The bad guy helped himself to a good guy’s gun while the good guy tried to shoot him with one of his other guns and missed.
Over 5 million US kids have fallen back into poverty due to the expiration of the pandemic aid, especially the enhanced Child Tax Credit. In 2022 there were 8,983,000 kids living in poverty. In 2021 there were 3,829,000 which was a record low.
Speaker Kevin McCarthy just announced that he is doing what dumb shit confederate southerner Marjorie Taylor Greene told him to do and has approved an impeachment inquiry into Biden even though there isn’t any evidence and he doesn’t have the votes to actually do it. Next up: Government shut down.
