Not My Job
At a MAGA rally in Florida, Trump praised Hamas and criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He called Hezbollah’s terrorist attackers “very smart” and suggested that Israel “wasn’t ready” militarily to protect itself from Hamas and Hezbollah.
Trump blamed the attack on Israel on a rigged election.
Trump said he’ll “never forget” that Israel didn’t participate in his Soleimani operation. He said Israel “let us down” and needs to “straighten it out.” He called them weak, saying they should “strengthen themselves up.”
Trump said Biden is letting terrorists into the country because “Barack Hussein Obama.” He repeated the name over and over before saying the capital of the United States looked like “shit.”
Trump called the Israeli defense minister a jerk for warning Hezbollah not to attack Israel.
The leader of the Republican Party, a candidate for president, has been criticizing Israel, a US ally, in the middle of a war, because he’s mad that Israeli leaders praised Biden.
Trump posted that Hamas is coming up through our open border to attack us.
Democratic House member Pat Ryan, a combat vet and a member of the House Armed Services committee, is introducing a motion to demand that Tommy Tuberville lift his hold on military positions because it’s putting Israelis and members of the US military in serious danger. The USS Ford is in the eastern Mediterranean and the Eisenhower may join it and there is no confirmed Chief of Naval Operations. The nominee for the Fifth Fleet is blocked.
Tommy Tuberville is playing games with our national security, our ally’s national security, and the lives of our military members. He’s only interested in the manufactured culture war over abortion and not the real war in the Middle East.
Some of the hostages that were taken are Americans.
Tommy Tuberville, who has single-handedly weakened our military by blocking 300 appointments, said that picking sides in the Middle East is a bad idea. Israel is our ally. He’s a US Senator. He is supposed to pick the side of our ally. It was a stupid thing to say. He said it because he’s stupid.
Tommy Tuberville, who said he’s afraid to turn on the TV for fear he’d see Biden falling down, fell down a bunch of stairs while deboarding a plane. That clip was posted so many times you couldn’t turn on your laptop or phone without seeing Tommy Tuberville falling down.
Tommy Tuberville sold $1.3 million in military stocks in March, right before he started holding up appointments. He’s on the Armed Services Committee which oversees the Pentagon. That’s how he knew when to sell.
Steve Scalise beat Jim Jordan for Speaker in a secret vote behind closed doors — 113 to 99. MAGA Republican Harriet Hageman from Wyoming (who beat Liz Cheney) brought a lasso (a rope with a noose at the end), the thing cowboys use to capture cows. Her look alike, George Santos, says he’ll vote for whoever doesn’t vote for him to be expelled from Congress.
A group of House Republicans from New York are introducing a resolution to kick George Santos out. He posted a threat to his Republican colleagues warning them that if any of them vote to expel him that he’ll out them for their own crimes because they’re just as bad as he is. If he gets thrown out, he said he’ll have plenty of time on his hands for revenge so the Republicans better watch out.
Trump’s attorneys are arguing in a Colorado court that he was not obligated to defend the constitution as president. The case was brought to keep Trump’s name off of the ballot under the clause in the 14th amendment that says you can’t run for office if you participated in an insurrection.
Trump said defending the constitution was not his job.
Democratic Senator Robert Menendez has been accused of acting as a foreign agent according to a superseding indictment filed by a federal grand jury in Manhattan.
Republican Dan Crenshaw tried to trip a reporter who was asking him questions on the concrete steps outside of the Capitol. The whole thing was caught on video. That’s assault.
Fani Willis tripped Jim Jordan when he demanded again that he be given more information on the RICO case, in the name of his position as chair of the House Judiciary Committee. She wrote back and told him to go fuck himself. She told him that if he were anybody else (i.e. NOT a member of Congress), he’d be prosecuted for interfering with an ongoing criminal prosecution and that she doesn’t have to give him anything because Congress can’t interfere with state cases. Nosing around in Trump’s case is not his job.
