The US embassy in Baghdad is under attack right now. Protesters have set the outer wall on fire and have busted through to the interior. Iranian backed militias are overrunning the embassy. The Marines are engaged. Mike Pompeo and John Bolton are excited. Trump is golfing.
Trump tweeted: Iran killed an American contractor, wounding many. We strongly responded, and always will. Now Iran is orchestrating an attack on the U.S. Embassy in Iraq. They will be held fully responsible. In addition, we expect Iraq to use its forces to protect the Embassy, and so notified!
Unlike Benghazi, Republicans won’t say a word about this because Hillary Clinton isn’t Secretary of State.

Trump has been talking to Putin this week. We know this because the Kremlin told us. We also know this because Trump tweeted: President Putin of Russia called to thank me and the U.S. for informing them of a planned terrorist attack in the very beautiful city of Saint Petersburg. They were able to quickly apprehend the suspects, with many lives being saved. Great & important coordination!
Trump looks at Putin the way Pence looks at Trump.
Trump and Putin could start WWIII in the Middle East in a tweet and Twitter would let them.
Former US Intelligence official and terrorism expert Malcolm Nance wants Trump kept as far away from the Baghdad embassy as possible because he really could start WWIII in a tweet from his golf cart.
Rudy’s ex-associate (does anybody except white collar criminals have “associates?”) Lev Parnas, who has already been indicted, had his lawyer tell Congress that he’s got more information and he’s ready to use it.
New evidence will strengthen the case and open the way for more impeachments.
Susan Collins said she is open to calling witnesses to testify in the Senate impeachment trial. She’s “open?” It’s a TRIAL. That’s how it works. Senators shouldn’t get to decide if a trial should have witnesses or not. She says she just wants to hear the arguments, vote and be done with it so the Senate can “move on.” Move on to what? Doing nothing but confirming conservative judges? Or is she talking about getting on with her re-election campaign?
Lisa Murkowski said she was “disturbed” that Mitch McConnell doesn’t want a fair trial. Now everybody is holding her up as some sort of courageous patriot. The bar is so low for Republicans that the slightest hint of doing the right thing is seen as momentous.
Lindsey Graham went golfing with Trump yesterday. Uh oh.

America is teetering at the edge of existence. We could go either way.
Forget about losing weight, joining a gym, and accumulating more stuff in the new year. Americans should all have just one new year’s resolution — get rid of Trump. Hindsight is 2020.
