One Way or the Other
The mainstream media is being very lazy about how it is covering recovery efforts post Hurricane Ian. Why is that? Because they get more clicks and likes when they follow the Kardashians around and “report” on what they’re doing? Because it’s easier to just air the same footage over and over of one area and too costly to get camera crews out to other parts of the state to cover what is happening to the average Floridian? Or are they being denied access by Ron DeSantis who is up for re-election in 5 weeks? One way or the other, the mainstream media is missing the whole story.
DeSantis is campaigning as he goes about his job of overseeing and managing recovery and clean up efforts. He is accusing the “national regime media” of trying to make him look bad by exploiting a natural disaster for political reasons. He said the media and liberals were rooting for the hurricane to hit Tampa because that would cause the most destruction and death which could then be used against him. He says the media and the libs are using the hurricane to advance their agenda and hurt him politically and accused his opponents of politicizing the hurricane to hurt his campaign. Every chance he gets he mentions the Casey DeSantis Disaster Fund. He doesn’t mention other ways to give like the Red Cross because when you’re scamming people, there is no one way or the other.
Areas more inland in cities and towns like Arcadia are still flooding because rivers and canals keep surging. Residents in Cape Coral are furious that the media isn’t covering the real story — thousands are dead.
Makeshift morgues in spaces like malls and refrigerator trucks don’t make the news. Why so many temporary containers to hold bodies if there were only 100 deaths? A young expectant mother lost her baby when the hurricane hit because she was unable to get to the hospital. When she was finally able to get to the hospital, the doctors couldn’t remove the 6 month old dead fetus because of Florida’s ban on abortion. She lived through the hurricane and must now live with her dead baby inside her because of Republicans.
Speaking of abortion, not a single Republican has denounced Herschel Walker for paying for one. Why? a) because who among them has not paid for an abortion? b) abortions are OK when Republicans need them, c) because Republicans don’t really care one way or the other about abortion, it’s all political and one way or the other, they just want to win.
Trump defended Herschel Walker and said the claim about the abortion was fake news. Machine Gun Barbie, Dana Loesch, the former NRA YouTube channel host who has no sympathy for kids being shot at school said, “I don’t care if Herschel Walker paid to abort endangered baby eagles. I want control of the Senate.” Newt Gingrich went on Fox and said, “I think Walker is the most important Senate candidate in the country because he’ll do more to change the Senate by his deep commitment to Christ.” Walker’s opponent is literally a Christian pastor, preaching in Martin Luther King’s pulpit.
When Herschel Walker was asked on Fox why his son Christian had come out against him, he said exactly what his coaches told him to say. “The damage he’s doing, he’s letting people know that the left will do whatever they can to win this seat, and I told you when I got in this race I’m gonna win this seat.”
The party of Christian values doesn’t value Christian.
Even after it came out that he paid for an abortion, had 4 kids with 4 different women and didn’t raise any of them, threatened to kill various members of his family, is a proven pathological liar, is undereducated, has brain damage and has spent time in a mental hospital, the GOP still supports Herschel Walker. None of that matters. He’s the Black Trump and that’s all that matters.
Speaking of Trump, he asked the Supreme Court to intervene and make the ruling go away that allowed the Justice Department to access HIS classified documents that the FBI took from HIS private club. So Justice Clarence Thomas, whose wife tried to help Trump take over the government, gave the DOJ until next Tuesday to respond to Trump’s motion. The fact that a Supreme Court Justice would even consider doing such a thing further delegitimizes the Supreme Court even if the outcome isn’t favorable one way or the other.
Incumbent MAGA Republican Rand Paul is refusing to debate his Democratic challenger Charles Booker citing the potential for political violence. He’s too scared to debate him because protesters and hecklers make him fear for his life, but Trump’s militia attacking the Capitol while he’s inside does not.
Trump called Mitch McConnell’s wife and his former transportation secretary, Elaine Chao, “Coco Chow” and like Ted Cruz, McConnell did nothing to defend his wife or call out a racist slur made by a former president because like abortion and people dying under their watch, Republicans don’t care about racism one way or the other.
