Open Impeachment Hearing Day #5
Devin Nunes took the time for his opening statement to re-purpose Adam Schiff’s “He got caught” from the day before and it was really stupid. It was like listening to a C student read an essay aloud that he wrote right before class. The Democrats got caught. The Democrats got caught. The Democrats got caught. White middle aged wanna be rapper rapping for sound bytes. He ended with a punch. Nude photos! The Democrats are trying to overthrow the president and pit Americans against one another! Russia hoax! Ukrainian sequel! The Democrats got caught!
Democrats don’t want to see Trump naked. Nobody does.
Irony of ironies. As Nunes tried to re-purpose “got caught” to the Republicans’ advantage, the public found out that he got caught spending taxpayer money to travel to Europe to dig up dirt on Mueller and that he had been palling around with Lev Parnas.
Gym Jordan, who is new to the Intelligence Committee and put there to put on an ape in the zoo show to take up time, rattle witnesses, and get people talking, did exactly that. He threw poop at fact witness David Holmes and then David Holmes took Gym Jordan to the mat. He confirmed the quid pro quo.
When it was Fiona Hill’s turn, she took them all to the mat. It was apparent while she was testifying that she was working for the country, and everybody else was working for Trump. She said that Gordon Sondland wasn’t coordinating with the rest of them because he was involved in a “domestic political errand.” When the Republican counsel tried to suggest that she had concerns about Lt. Col. Vindman’s judgment, she, a proud immigrant herself, shot back. “I think it’s very unfortunate. This is a country of immigrants. This is what, for me, really does make America great. My loyalty is here to the U.S., this is my country. I think it’s deeply unfair.”
She is an expert on Putin and Russia and warned the Republicans that they are playing right into Putin’s hands by spreading his conspiracy theories. He is dictating America’s foreign policy straight from the Kremlin.
“It was clear that Burisma was code for the Bidens because Giuliani was laying it out there. I could see why Col. Vindman was alarmed and he said ‘this is inappropriate, we’re the National Security Council, we can’t be involved in this.’ I did say to him, ‘I think this is all going to blow up’ — and here we are.”
Fiona Hill and David Holmes are government workers. Their testimony killed the Republican conspiracy theories and their ridiculous spin. They blew everything up to save Americans from themeselve. Sondland blew everything up to save his own ass.
While the hearing was going on Trump invited some Republican Senators to the White House to tamper with the jury. He had time to tweet, of course: Corrupt politician Adam Schiff’s lies are growing by the day. Keep fighting tough, Republicans, you are dealing with human scum who have taken Due Process and all of the Republican Party’s rights away from us during the most unfair hearings in American History……
And while the hearing was going on and Trump was bribing the jury, Trump’s closest international ally, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was indicted for three corruption cases — bribery, fraud, and breach of trust.
Adam Schiff knocked it out of the park again with his closing remarks for the day: “What we’ve seen here is far more serious than a third rate burglary of the Democratic headquarters. What we’re talking about here is beyond anything Nixon did. The difference between Watergate and now is not the difference between Nixon and Trump. It’s the difference between that Congress and this one.”
The entire White House cyber security staff quit last week. Nobody is in charge. We’re sitting ducks.
Trump blathered on and on for an hour on Fox News this morning. Fox and Friends, his only friends, couldn’t get him off the phone. The healthist, strongest president in the history of the world now claims “there are a lot of things wrong with me.” He’s setting up a martyr’s exit strategy. He complained that Marie Yovanovitch wouldn’t hang his picture in the embassy and that she was an Obama person. “She wouldn’t hang my picture in the embassy. She is in charge of the embassy. She wouldn’t hang it. It look a year and a half, two years to get the picture up. She said bad things about me. This was not an angel this woman, okay?……..I want a trial…..I do want always corruption…….If it weren’t for me, Hong Kong would have been obliterated in 14 minutes.”
He’s going to blow another clot.
And While Trump was ranting on TV this morning John Bolton tweeted: “……. for the backstory stay tuned……”
That’s it for public testimonies for the House Intelligence Committee. On to writing their reports. Impeach the mother fucker.
