It’s the third day of Trump’s fraud trial in New York and he’s there even though he’s not required to be. He’s using every single chance he can get to talk to the media so he can frame the narrative of the trial which is the usual witch hunt disgraceful rigged hoax. He doesn’t have a jury because either somebody didn’t check the box requesting one or that’s the way he wants it. Was it an oversight of his idiot parking garage lawyer who just forgot to check the box or did he fix it this way so he could point to no jury and say he didn’t get a fair trial?
During the trial yesterday he posted something about the judge’s clerk along with a photo of her and Chuck Schumer, insinuating that the two of them are getting it on. That really pissed the judge off so he issued a gag order — Trump better not say a word about any of his staff from now on.
He told reporters that the judge was a rogue, corrupt Democratic operative who should be disbarred because this sham trail is election interference. He called the whole thing a witch hunt just like he did both impeachments. He baited his deranged followers with, “You ought to go after this attorney general.” He called her a racist and an animal (she’s Black), which some of his crazy racist followers might perceive as an animal to be hunted. AG Letitia James responded by saying Trump had “fomented violence” and made “race-baiting appeals to the bottom of our humanity. I will not be bullied. Justice will be served.”
Trump is there for publicity. Every time there is a break and every day before and after court, he talks to the press and slanders the judge and AG. He called his fraud case a fraud. He’s trying this case in the court of public opinion so he can control the narrative which is everybody but him is corrupt.
Congress can’t function right now because there is no Speaker in the House. Matt Gaetz changed his mind again and moved to vacate the chair. He and 7 MAGAs voted yes along with all but one of the Democrats. McCarthy framed it as a Democratic hit but this all originated with the MAGA Republicans. The Democrats just saw it as a welcomed opportunity.
Why should the Dems do anything to help McCarthy? After condemning Trump on the House floor right after the insurrection he flew to Mar-a-Lago and blew smoke up Trump’s ass while he was kissing it which single-handedly brought the monster back to Republican political life. McCarthy also blew off his subpoena from the Select Committee and has lied about Democrats in order to accumulate more power. So no, the Dems aren’t going to help the guy out.
Kevin McCarthy is out. He will go down in history as the worst Speaker ever. He says he won’t run again but he’s such a liar and so addicted to power that he could very well humiliate himself once again and beg for his job back. Jim Jordan threw his MAGA hat into the fighting ring. He’s already chair of the Judiciary Committee and kind of busy right now trying to impeach Biden without evidence. Plus he played a huge part in the insurrection but is yet to be indicted. Steve Scalise has launched his bid for Speaker. He’s majority leader now who once referred to himself as “David Duke without the baggage.” He’s an out and proud white supremacist. Some Republicans want to put Trump up for Speaker. When asked about it, Trump told the press, “A lot of people have been calling me about speaker. All I can say is we’ll do whatever is best for the country and the Republican Party.”
Matt Gaetz sent out a fundraising email after he moved to vacate bragging about what he had just done.
Patrick McHenry is the Speaker pro tempore. He adjourned the House for a week and kicked Nancy Pelosi out of her private office. McCarthy is moving his stuff into her office.
The first thing Republicans did after McCarthy got booted out was lash out at Pelosi.
This stuff never happened when Nancy Pelosi was in charge. She had a slim margin to work with too which included the far left Squad but she still got shit done. The far right, comprised of a handful extremists who were part of the insurrection are in control of the Republican Party and the House of Representatives. They are fighting with each other, not the Democrats.
The House can’t do any business without a Speaker.
The Speaker is a constitutional office, the third in line for the presidency. If as something happens to Biden and Harris there is no one to take charge.
The House went from being a dysfunctional arm of government to a nonexistent arm of government. Our government can’t work right now because the insurrection is ongoing.
The repugs don’t know what to do now because they don’t know what their jobs really are. All they care about is having power and getting the most media attention. There is nobody to step up and say follow me. They don’t know how government is supposed to run. They haven’t read the Constitution. They don’t know about history. They can’t do the people’s business because they have no business being there.
Vote them OUT.
