Peaceful Transition My Ass
Trump did his daily fireside rants before the dutiful press and pretty much said he’s not leaving and will continue to rule regardless of the election results. He wouldn’t commit to a peaceful transition of power. The president of the United States declared that there will be no peaceful transfer of power because there will be no transfer at all. There will only be a continuation. The New York Times ran his refusal to relinquish power on page A15 and the Washington Post on A4. Trump declaring totalitarian rule is not even front page news this morning.
At the same time that Trump was giving his fireside rants, it was decided (on the 65th anniversary of 14 year old Emmett Till’s murderers being acquitted by an all white male jury after “deliberating” for an hour) that the 4 cops who broke into Breonna Taylor’s house while she was sleeping and shot her would not be charged with murder. Only one of them got charged for shooting into a neighbor’s wall. The sentence would be the same as if he had used someone else’s credit card without asking and charged $500 — $1,000. When a reporter asked Trump to comment, he high tailed it out of the there and said he had to “leave for an emergency phone call” but before he left he reminded the press that he’s “done more for the Black community” than any president since Abraham Lincoln.
Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron, a black man, concluded that Breonna Taylor may have been hit by 6 bullets fired by 2 Louisville officers but only 1 bullet was fatal and that one was shot in self defense after Breonna’s boyfriend shot at them for busting down their door in the middle of the night.
So much for defending your castle, gun nuts. Breonna’s boyfriend did just that and the cops killed her in “self defense.”
Republican hypocrite fun fact: Trump invited AG Daniel Cameron to be the token black speaker for the his national convention (fka the Republican National Convention.) Cameron claimed the Breonna Taylor case for the Republicans — “Whether you are the family of Breonna Taylor or of David Dorn, Republicans will never turn a blind eye to unjust acts, but neither will we accept this all-out assault on Western civilization.” (David Dorn was a retired St. Louis police captain who was shot and killed in June during civil unrest outside a pawn shop.) Defending “Western civilization” or European heritage is code for white supremacists and the belief that white people are intellectually superior to all non-white cultures.
Fox immediately started framing the protests after the grand jury announcement as HERE WE GO! The black people are invading the streets and they’re coming for YOU!!!!!! The Detroit police chief called in and claimed that a video of a single U-Haul truck in Louisville is proof that nationwide violence “is coordinated, it’s planned … it’s financed” by a “Marxist ideology” trying “to undermine our government as we know it.”
The CEO of Wells Fargo, Charlie Scharf, says gee, we’re sorry for the lack of diversity at the bank, it’s just that there aren’t any talented black people to choose from.
Dr. Fauci smacked Kentucky Senator Rand Paul down after he made the racist comment in a public hearing that countries like South Korea and Japan have done a better job of controlling the coronavirus because their people are more resilient to the virus and not because they took better public health measures. Dr. Fauci shook his head and said, “This happens with Senator Rand all the time…if you believe that 22% is herd immunity, I believe you’re alone in that.”

A very noisy crowd showed up in front of Mitch McConnell’s house this morning at 7:30 am, complete with an all black “Go-Go” band playing on a flat bed truck.
Trump and the Third Lady showed up at the Supreme Court for their photo op with RBG’s casket but after they were met with chants of “Vote him out!” so they high tailed it out of there.
The president announcing he is in fact a dictator and plans on staying in power forever backed up by the Republican party and the courts and a corrupt US attorney general, an out of control deadly pandemic that the government is doing nothing about, a burning planet, cops getting away with murdering black people, and finding out that friends and family members are Nazis is taking a toll on America’s collective mental health. People are breaking down. Alcohol and addiction relapses and overdoses have gone up 30% since March.
Halloween is pretty much cancelled this year because trick or treating could kill you but Americans are stocking up on candy anyway because they plan on EATING IT ALL THEMSELVES.
If you ever want to vote again, you better show up in November. 40 more days.
