President Kamala Harris
President Biden announced that he was dropping out of the presidential race, sending millions of Americans into a collective panic. WTF? We can’t take it any more! Everybody has been a nervous wreck since the debate. Hearing that Biden was dropping out was a total shock. WHAT NOW?
Will it ever end?
Then he endorsed Kamala Harris for president. Wait. What?
People processed the news pretty quickly. They went from being totally freaked out to being excited about Kamala. Social media timelines were flooded with support for her and news of Democrats endorsing her kept rolling in too. It was constant and it felt great.
Joe Biden stepped aside for the country’s sake, showing true selflessness, leadership, and love of country.
“Biden stepped aside for his country — Trump tried to overthrow it.” — Tristan Snell
The news about Biden turning things over to Kamala kicked Trump “taking a bullet for his country” and his near assassination attempt campaign messaging right out of the news cycle. Nobody will be talking about him for awhile, giving the country a much needed mental health break.
Kamala is a progressive bad ass. As senator, she was one of the first co-sponsors of Bernie’s Medicare for All bill. She supports a living wage, abortion rights, and LGBTQ equality (as attorney general of California she got to perform the marriage ceremony for plaintiffs Kristin Perry and Sandy Stier inside the state capital right after the Supreme Court struck Prop 8 down). She also supports climate change, affordable childcare, and peace.
She called the Supreme Court an “activist court.”
Kamala made Brett Kavanaugh cry during his confirmation hearing for the Supreme Court. As senator, she asked him if he could think of “any laws that give government the power to make decisions about the male body.” He couldn’t. She asked if he had ever discussed the Mueller investigation with anyone at a certain law firm which made him very nervous. He scratched his head. Kamala said, “I think you’re thinking of someone and you don’t want to tell us.” When she asked if he believed Trump was correct when he said that “both sides” were to blame for Charlottesville, he refused to answer. She put him in his place and that made him so mad he cried.
Kamala Harris was the first-ever vice president to visit the abortion provider, Planned Parenthood where she publicly demanded protections for reproductive freedom across the nation. She was the first powerful person to talk about the importance of protecting women’s right to abortion and contraception and she did it at the very spot where women have had to walk past hostile strangers screaming at them in order to take care of some very personal business.
She once said that Trump needed to be indicted as soon as he is out of office and his policies should be prosecuted. She also said that Trump was a sexual predator and belonged in jail. As a prosecutor, she put a lot sexual predators in jail.
This election will be between a convicted felon and a former prosecutor.
The Harris campaign should run against the convicted felon, Project 2025, and the reversal of Roe v Wade.
Trump was caught recently on video sitting in his golf cart talking about Kamala. He found out that Joe Biden was stepping aside and picking Kamala to run a couple of days before the public found out. He called Kamala a “bitch” in his real voice, not in the king of the MAGA character voice he uses for his rallies. Trump’s real persona is even more vile and nasty than his MAGA persona.
As president, Joe Biden always includes Kamala in his remarks. He always says, “the Vice President and I.” He is always setting her up to succeed him. At an event recently for Black Americans he told them, “Folks, it’s because of you that I am President and Kamala Harris is vice president. And by the way, she’s not only a great Vice President. She could be president of the United States.”
Two of the most radical presidencies involve Joe Biden — Barack Obama and Kamala Harris. He stands in the middle, serving as VP for one and president for the other. Just one more thing to add to his growing legacy.
