Mississippi Democratic Congressman Bennie Thompson, the NAACP and the civil rights law firm Cohen Milstein Sellers and Toll have filed 2 lawsuits against Trump and Rudy, plus the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers, citing the KKK law of 1871 which makes it illegal for white supremacists to interfere with Congress doing its work.

Joe Biden said that domestic terrorism is the greatest threat to the country during a CNN town hall in Wisconsin last night. He said he has spoken with all of his predecessors “with one exception.” He refers to Trump as the former guy and doesn’t want to talk about him anymore. Put the trash out. It’s been 4 years of nonstop Trump and he’s sick of him. President Biden never called CNN fake news or insulted Anderson Cooper. Joe Biden put the trash out.
Republicans in Georgia are trying to amend their state constitution to keep Fulton County from prosecuting Trump. The GQP legislature has proposed legislation that would require grand juries investigating any election related crimes to come from all over the state, not just Fulton County where the state’s capitol is.

100 million Americans all across the country are under a winter weather advisory warning right now. The weather is really bad in many states but it’s the worst in Texas — all 254 counties. This is due to a direct failure of the governor. Unlike other counties in other states who have lost power BECAUSE of the weather, Texans have lost power because their power is privatized and was turned off to save the few rich people who own the state’s electrical company, ERCOT (Electricity Reliability Council of Texas Interconnection), money. They didn’t cut power to affluent communities or the empty skyscrapers in big cities that gobble up a ton of energy, just moderate and lower income neighborhoods.

Governor Greg Abbott blew off the part about being governor that involves fixing really big problems to go on Sean Hannity’s show and blame his failures on liberal energy policy and the Green New Deal which isn’t anything but an idea right now.

People are freezing in their own homes and water pipes are bursting and flooding houses, apartments and hotels. People can’t leave because the state doesn’t have any snow plows or salt trucks to clear the roads plus gas stations have run out of gas. Grocery store shelves are empty.
Jesus Christ Superstar megachurch showman Joel Osteen has opened his gigantic building to save face because Hurricane Harvey made him look bad when he wouldn’t let anybody in. He says he feels “blessed” to be able to open his church just don’t touch anything and be sure to show your gratitude by putting a few bucks in his pocket on your way out. How did he spend the $4.4 million in PPP money he gouged tax payers for?

The only positive thing about what’s going on in Texas right now is Texans aren’t out spreading the virus and they’ve unplugged from Fox News.

Texas has got to face some hard truths: Climate change is real, capitalism and deregulation benefit only a few and can be deadly, government should not be run like a business, and voting for Republicans got you into this mess. Stop voting for Republicans if you don’t want to be trapped in your homes in freezing cold weather without electricity, running water or anyone who will take responsibility for government failure. Elect people who care about you, the people, instead of the few very rich people who don’t care about anyone but themselves.
