The Colorado Springs shooter had been charged with 3 counts of first degree kidnapping and 2 counts of felony menacing in June of 2021 after he kidnapped someone and threatened to kill his mom. The charges were dropped a year later. There is a red flag law in Colorado that would have given his family the right to let authorities know that he was dangerous so they could take his guns but nobody did anything. The sheriff is opposes the law.
One of the guys who stopped the shooter was a vet who had made 4 deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan over 15 years. He was an Army Major. He doesn’t want people calling him Major or hero. His name is Richard Fierro and he owns a local brewery. He was there with family. He took his wife and daughter to see a drag show. One of his daughter’s friends was in the show. Her boyfriend was there too. They’re all straight but they love the club because they love their community.
Richard took his daughter to a drag show and it’s a good thing he did because he was there to tackle and beat the 300 pound domestic terrorist with his own gun. He beat him so bad he thought he might have killed him. All he could think of was he had to protect his family and by family he meant everybody in the bar. He yelled for help and one of the drag queens, a trans woman, stomped on the shooter’s head with her shoe. Richard’s wife and daughter were shot but they survived. The daughter’s boyfriend was killed. His message to the country is love and care for everybody in your community. Straight, gay, whatever.
Focus on the Family, the gigantic Christian nationalist group that is heavily involved in Republican politics and is responsible for much of the hate and violence perpetrated on the LGBTQ community, is located on a 47 acre compound in Colorado Springs, next to the US Air Force Academy. They have their own zip code. Focus on the Family has 3 tenets — family is everything, the government protects the family, and God protects the government.
The day after the Colorado Springs shooting, Herschel Walker ran a new ad attacking the LGBTQ community, opposing the Equality Act.
The Senate voted on a procedural vote to protect same sex and interracial marriage before the Supreme Court makes them both illegal. 37 Republicans voted against it. One of them was Mitch McConnell who is in an interracial marriage. So did Lindsey Graham. He’s “single.” States can still outlaw both but you can get married in California and go back to your homophobic, racist state and it will have to legally recognize your marriage. They need to vote one more time and if it passes, it moves on to the House which has already passed similar bills. Biden is ready to sign.
Congress has to make a law to protect LGBTQs and POCs from the Supreme Court.
Democrats march in pride parades. Out and proud gays and lesbians serve in Congress and the Biden administration. Biden appointed the first Black trans woman, Tori Cooper, to the HIV/AIDS panel. His deputy health secretary, Rachel Levine, is a trans woman and a pediatrician. His second press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, is the first out gay spokeswoman and the second Black woman to have the job.
In Biden’s first joint address to Congress, he told trans kids that the president had their backs.
Republicans put forth over 300 anti-LGBTQ bills in state legislatures in one year, many of them specifically targeted transgender children and their parents by banning access to medical care and support at school.
Tucker Carlson said on his show that the government is injecting cows with something that makes kids trans if they drink the milk. He has named and shown pictures of executives at a hospital that provides gender affirming care to trans teens and called them criminals who deserve the bomb threats that he incites.
The California passed a law establishing the state as a “refuge” for transgender children and their families. Speaker Nancy Pelosi of San Francisco appeared on RuPaul’s Drag Race during Pride Month where she said to the queens, “Your freedom of expression, of yourselves in drag, is what America is all about. I say that all the time — to my friends in drag.”
While Republicans continue to rail against drag queen story hour, trans kids using school restrooms, teachers grooming students for sex, and Democrats being pedophiles, Republicans keep getting arrested for pedophilia and possession of child pornography.
Steve Robert Wukmer, 66, is currently at the DeKalb County Detention Center in Alabama awaiting bond. He’s a former Ohio children’s pastor and has been arrested on 217 counts of child pornography.
Republican candidate for state senate in South Dakota, Joel Koskan, was arrested for multiple sexual acts against his adopted child over a 6 year period. He was charged with 4 felonies and could go to jail for 10 years. He adopted his daughter at age 12. She reported the abuse at age 14 but nobody did anything. He had a camera in her bedroom to peep on her and film himself raping her. He tracked her with a GPS in her car. Her dad groomed her to be his sex slave. All of the MAGA Republicans who have been accusing Democrats of being sexual groomers of children had no comment. The Republican Party of South Dakota paid his bond. He’s not trans or a drag queen. He is a Republican who had to drop out of the race because he got busted for raping his daughter.
