Election results are in. White grievance and racism won.
The Trumplican candidate, Glenn Youngkin, the former CEO of the Carlyle Group, a corporation that buys up American companies and offshores them by selling them to countries like the Philippines for an insane profit, putting Americans out of work and destroying their communities, is now the new governor of Virginia. Just like Trump, the filthy rich white man has no government experience. He ran on racism which brought out the white suburban woman vote. He promised them more control over their schools by being able to ban books like Toni Morrison’s “Beloved” (the story of a runaway slave who is captured) and preventing Critical Race Theory from being taught. Nobody but college students in law school had ever heard of Critical Race Theory until the Republicans made a talking point of it. There is no such thing as a Critical Race Theory curriculum for grades K-12. It doesn’t exist. Republicans got this win by getting their racist voters worked up about the threat of their kids learning about white supremacy. Since they were successful, they will keep going with it. Just say no to Critical Race Theory being taught in schools (code for preserving white supremacy.) Don’t let your kids feel bad about being white.
Dems are going to need to confront racism head on whether they want to or not.

White women voted for Trump and let everybody else deal with the consequences. It was easy because living in the suburbs means you’re not impacted by your racist vote. They let Trump’s sexism go because, truth be told, they benefit from that too. Trump and Youngkin are making it possible for Virginia white women to act out their racism in a lady like way.
What are white moms in Virginia afraid their kids will find out?
Racism in Virginia fun fact: Virginia was the last state to desegregate. Schools desegregated in 1974.
White voters in Virginia got to tell themselves they weren’t racist for voting for Glenn Youngkin by voting for Winsome Sears for Lieutenant Governor. Winsome Sears is Black. Winsome Sears campaigned with her gun.
While racists were voting in Virginia, hundreds of QAnon weirdos gathered at the very place where President Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas to see his son, John John, rise from the dead to be Trump’s vice president. They were told that JFK Jr was going to show up on November 2 at 12:29 (JFK was assassinated on November 22 at 12:30.) They dressed up in red, white and blue, carried MAGA banners, and chanted “Let’s Go Brandon!”(translation: Fuck you Biden.) He didn’t show.
QAnon weirdos really believe that JFK Jr, a true blue Democrat from a high profile Democratic political family, faked his own death for 22 years just so he could be Trump’s Vice President. These people are out of their minds. AND THEY VOTE. Like white women from the suburbs of Virginia, they vote. For the same people.
The Democratic party is making a big mistake by not cutting this off at the knees and kicking white supremacist candidates to the racist curb. There is no finding any “common ground” with these people. They must be defeated and put in their place. That goes for the belles of the suburbs, too.

Meanwhile in two blue states, Connecticut will be the first state in the nation to require high schools to offer African American, Black, Puerto Rican and Latino studies and Asian American history will be taught in high schools in Illinois.
High school kids in Connecticut and Illinois will know who Emmet Till was. Kids in red states will not.
