Sam Miele, former fundraiser for indicted congressman, George Santos, has been charged with impersonating Kevin McCarthy’s former chief of staff to trick people into giving Santos money. He was charged with wire fraud and identity theft.
Speaker McCarthy keeps protecting Santos.
George Santos was indicted back in May. He’s facing 13 federal charges — 7 counts of wire fraud, 3 counts of money laundering, 1 count of theft of public funds, and 2 counts of making materially false statements to the House of Representatives. He could go to jail for 20 years. He not only refuses to resign, but he’s running for re-election. 100% of the House Republicans voted to block expelling him. They like him. He fits right in.
Former state Senator in Tennessee, Brian Kelsey, was sentenced to 21 months in federal prison for violating campaign finance laws. He’s a Republican.
MAGA nut Abigail Jo Shry from Texas is facing federal charges for threatening to kill Judge Tanya Chutkan in a voice mail. She also threatened Texas Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee.
Hardcore Trump supporters are domestic terrorists. People are going to get hurt and killed because Trump and the Republicans refuse to denounce their threats of violence. Domestic terrorism not only won’t end, but it will continue to get worse if the terrorists keep getting away with it. Prosecute all the worker bees and trap the Queen Bee by putting his big fat ass in jail. The message needs to be sent that Trump’s reign of terror is over.
We don’t have laws on the books for domestic terrorists. The right and left can’t agree on what a domestic terrorist is. Republicans call them patriots.
During the second impeachment trial for Trump, House managers played clips of MAGA rallies over the years where Trump egged his cult followers on and encouraged them to commit acts of violence on his behalf. The Republicans in the Senate ignored the presentation. 13 of them didn’t even bother showing up to the trial on the third day. In any other jury situation they’d be arrested and put in jail but since they’re Republicans in Congress they do whatever they want and get away with it.
What we’re learning from the Trump indictments is that there won’t be any consequences for any of the lies that he told before, during, and after his presidency because lying is not illegal. Politicians who lie are protected by the first amendment.
Once Trump, his crime family, and the Republicans are prosecuted it will be time to make new laws to insure that they can’t get away with this again. New laws need to be made to punish politicians and Fox News for lying. Their lies have gotten so out of control they’ve gotten people killed.
Nobody in the Republican Party has denounced MAGAs who are making violent threats against grand jurors in Fulton County. One of them even published their addresses.
It’s been 8 years since that piece of shit conman criminal came down the escalator with his third wife. He’s a mad man who put America and Americans through hell. Biden has done an excellent job of repairing much of the damage. He’s got things under control but he sure could use more support since Trump is sucking up all the media attention and Republicans keep lying about what a terrible job he’s doing. Now finally Trump is facing indictments for what he’s done to the country. He needs to be tried and convicted, along with everybody who crimed for him. Republicans who don’t go to jail because they didn’t crime for him need to be voted out because they enabled him. This is the only way we will be able to rebuild our democracy and shed our collective depression.
Republicans didn’t speak up in the beginning of the Trump reign when it was the right and moral thing to do. They didn’t speak up when he threatened our democracy. They won’t speak up to keep innocent people from getting killed.
Trump was just a manifestation of the Republicans’ evil ambition and anti-democratic pursuit of power.
