Brett Kavanaugh had his first day on the job on the Supreme Court, surrounded by token female law clerks. Trump did a televised swearing in ceremony for him because he thought it would make great reality TV. He apologized to Kavanaugh on behalf of the country, promoting the “We’re the real victims here -#Himtoo” upcoming season of The White House Apprentice.
Trump called the Kavanaugh accusers, reporters, and Democrats evil. He said that the allegations against Kavanaugh were a hoax set up by the Democrats. Two of the most powerful men on earth, both white and privileged beyond the pale, both pathological liars, both accused of sexual assault, and both pawns for the Republican party, are in control. The hoax is on us.
Trump tweeted this morning, “The paid D.C. protesters are now ready to REALLY protest because they haven’t gotten their checks — in other words, they weren’t paid! Screamers in Congress, and outside, were far too obvious — less professional than anticipated by those paying (or not paying) the bills!”

Women confronted millionaire Republican Senator Bob Corker in the halls of the capitol about Kavanaugh. “What am I supposed to tell my daughters and granddaughters?” He wouldn’t say anything. After one woman said, “November is coming.” Bob Corker laughed and said, “Yeah, but I’m not on the ballot.”

The Republican running against Heidi Heitkamp in North Dakota, Kevin Cramer, says that the Me Too movement is about “victimization” - that women should be believed just by making an accusation. North Dakota prairie women aren’t like that! They’re tough! To that, Heitkamp, a former state attorney general who spent the better part of her career working with victims. angrily responded by asking how many women he has actually met who have shared their stories with him? This is personal for Hietkamp. Her mom was raped as a teenager.
Heidi Heitkamp represents five federally recognized tribes. Sexual violence against Native American women is an epidemic. They are two and half times more likely to be sexually assaulted than nonnative women.
White women who still support Trump and haven’t denounced the patriarchy haven’t because they benefit from it. If they or their daughters need a safe abortion they know they’ll be able to get one if Roe v Wade is reversed. Equal pay isn’t that big of a deal if your husband makes enough money so you don’t have to work. The only brown people they may know are their housekeepers and nannies so the plight of immigrants isn’t foremost on their minds. They may think they’re not racist because the “n” word offends them but when it comes to Black Lives Matter, all they see are angry black people in the streets.
Kanye West is having lunch at the White House today with Trump. Topics of discussions will include manufacturing resurgence in America, prison reform, how to prevent gang violence, and what can be done to reduce violence in Chicago.
Trump’s big plan for victory in November is to use the media to convince people that Republicans are fired up now to vote because of what the liberals tried to do to Kavanaugh. The “Never Trump” movement is over!
Trump says, “I think a lot of Democrats are going to vote Republican because I have many friends that are Democrats. The main base of the Democrats have shifted so far left that we’ll end up being Venezuela…I think a lot of Democrats are going to be voting Republican on Nov. 6.”
Republican hypocrite fun fact: The Republican strategy to win in November is rage, misogyny, and Kavanaugh. They’re going for every last angry, impotent white male vote. White men are under attack! The only people who believe that white men are under attack are white men.
Dr. Blasey Ford’s life has been turned upside down because she felt it was her civic duty to warn the country about Kavanaugh. The Senate going ahead and confirming him and the death threats she is still getting show why women don’t always come forward after being sexually assaulted.
Trump and the Republicans would like us to believe that Dr. Blasey Ford ruined Kavanaugh’s life. He got to go to the Supreme Court and she can’t even go home.
