Select Committee Hearing #6

The first White House official has testified before the Select Committee. Trump loyalist, 25 year old Cassidy Hutchinson, aide to Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and former intern for Ted Cruz and Steve Scalise, had the guts to not only go against the Trump crime family to tell the truth, but she was the first.

Cassidy had an office a few steps away from the Oval Office. She was right in the middle of everything and heard and saw a lot. She had already testified for 20 hours on 4 different days. She was part of the group that wanted nothing to do with crime. There were two other groups — those who were in on it and those who looked the other way and pretended like they didn’t know anything.

She heard Rudy Giuliani talk about the Oath Keepers and the Proud Boys days before January 6th. After Rudy asked her if she was excited about the 6th coming up, she asked him what he meant by that. He told her it was going to be a “great day” and that Trump was going to look really strong. She asked her boss, Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, what was going on and he said things could get, “really bad.” He didn’t seem to care one way or the other. When he started to head out for a meeting at the the war room at the Willard Hotel with Mike Flynn and Rudy the night before the insurrection, she convinced him not to go (he did phone in.)

Before the rally, White House Counsel Pat Cipollone (who refuses to testify) told her, “we’re going to get charged with every crime imaginable if we make that movement happen.”

At the Stop the Steal rally, Cassidy described Trump as being really agitated before his speech because there weren’t enough people in the crowd. Too many were outside of the designated rally area. They weren’t part of the rally crowd that would be picked up on camera because they either got ther weapons confiscated by security or they refused to go through the metal detectors because they were armed. Several had climbed up in trees with AR-15s. It’s illegal to open carry in Washington DC and you can’t register an AR-15 which means they’re pretty much illegal. Trump knew the mob was armed but he wanted security to take down the metal detectors and let “his people” in because he was sure “they weren’t there to hurt him.”

How did Trump know that nobody would shoot him?

Trump threatened Mike Pence from the stage in his speech and said he better do the right thing. He directed the crowd to march up to the Capitol, and promised that he would go with them. Kevin McCarthy saw the TV coverage and called Cassidy right away to ask her what was going on. She didn’t know.

After his speech, Trump had every intention of joining the crowd at the Capitol where he’d march right on to the House floor and stop the steal. He basically ordered a hit on Congress.

The Secret Service wouldn’t let him go so Trump got really mad, “I’m the fucking president!” He assaulted the driver by grabbing the wheel and attempted to choke him.

Another constitutional crisis. The President of the United States assaulted a Secret Service agent. What happens when the president goes from being protected from danger to being the danger? He physically threatened the one man whose job it is to take a bullet for him. The Secret Service tried to protect him and drive him away from danger and the president wanted to go the other way and put them in danger.

Trump was violent and cruel to his most loyal, supportive aides. Another line has been crossed.

Coups happen when there are guns on both sides. This was an attempted coup. On one side there was the Secret Service and cops. On the other side there were the Proud Boys, Oath Keepers, armed MAGAs up in the trees, and pumped up lunatics carrying sharpened flag poles to the Capitol.

After the Secret Service drove Trump back to the White House against his will, Trump threw a huge fit. His valet had to clean up a broken dish and ketchup on the wall.

Trump blamed Mark Meadows for the botched plan. Meadows led Trump to believe that he was going to go to the Capitol with the crowd.

Cassidy kept getting calls from people at the Capitol after the mob broke through and were charging through the halls, wanting answers. She didn’t have any answers because her boss, Mark Meadows, wouldn’t give her any. He was indifferent and disinterested. He just sat passively, scrolling through his phone while Trump fumed and watched the insurrection on TV, ignoring everybody who begged him to put an end to it. When Cassidy told Mark Meadows that the crowd was chanting, “Hang Mike Pence” his only response was that Trump didn’t think they were doing anything wrong and that Trump said Pence deserved it.

Cassidy Hutchinson’s testimony implicated Trump and Mark Meadows in a seditious conspiracy.

After their plan failed and the mob went home, as traumatized staff and workers cleaned up the blood and debris off of marble floors and cleaned human shit off the walls, Rudy and Mark asked for pardons and Trump said no.

The president’s personal attorney and his chief of staff asked for pardons the day after a failed coup.

During Cassidy Hutchinson’s testimony, Trump posted over 12 times on his Truth Social account. He called her a “whacko,” “total bullshit artist,” “leaker,” “phony,” “bad news,” and “a third rate social climber.” He said he never would have made her clean up ketchup because he “hardly knew” her. He hardly knew her even though her office was a few feet away from the Oval Office and he saw her every day.

Cassidy was threatened by the Trump crime family before her testimony and will receive even more threats now that she has testified, both by the family and Trump’s deranged followers. Several other witnesses and potential witnesses have been threatened as well. Mob bosses send messages to witnesses that say things like they know they’ll be testifying soon, they should stay on the team, and the boss reads the transcripts. Witness tampering is a federal crime.

“He’s friggin’ Al Capone with a combover.” — Ken Olin

The Select Committee made a plea at the close of the hearing for others to come forth and tell what they know now that someone has already come forward. Cassidy may be the first, don’t let her be the only.

A lot of powerful men, including a military leader, are too scared to do what 25 year old Cassidy Hutchinson just did.
