The Fox Highway to Fascist Hell
Another Dominion Voting Systems brief has come out. Rupert Murdoch, owner of Fox, basically admitted that Fox personalities endorsed Trump’s bullshit about the election. Since he was under oath, he didn’t dare lie. He’s a communications man and has made his fortune off of knowing when lying is profitable and when it is not. So he said, “I would have liked us to be stronger in denouncing it in hindsight.” Bottom line was he, the CEO, the board, and top execs let that go because it was the only way they wouldn’t lose viewers to the more radical, right-wing media outlets like OANN and Newsmax. They built that highway to fascist hell and they don’t want to share the road with anybody.
When asked why they kept bringing the QAnon lunatic on, MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, and let him go on and on about Dominion taking votes away from Trump, Murdoch admitted it was a pay to play game. Mike Lindell spends a lot of money to get on Fox. Murdoch said, “It is not red or blue, it is green.”
When asked if he could have kept the QAnon kook lawyers off of the air he admitted, “I could have. But I didn’t.”
Tucker Carlson totally freaked out after the election. He heard from a lot of his viewers after Fox called Arizona for Biden and they were pissed. He referred to QAnon kook lawyer Sidney Powell as a “fucking bitch” who had gone too far.
Trump could not have conned 75 million people without Fox.
Fox couldn’t con 1 million people every night without Ronald Reagan. He got rid of the Fairness Doctrine which opened the door for them and other “entertainment” news organizations. Murdoch says that his hosts are opinion hosts (not news anchors) whenever he gets into this kind of trouble and he always wins. If he doesn’t win this time, Dominion could bankrupt Fox.
Fox questioned the results of the election and pushed conspiracy theories nearly 800 times for 2 weeks after Biden was declared the winner. It downplayed the attack on the Capitol and invited MAGA Republicans on who had voted against certifying the election. They gave air time to traitors and insurrectionists over 900 times in 2021.
Rupert Murdoch used Fox to promote Republican candidates like Lindsey Graham.
Former Republican speaker and now Fox News board member Paul Ryan was deposed and admitted that he told both Rupert Murdoch and his son Lachlan, “Fox News should not be spreading conspiracy theories” and should “stop spouting election lies.” He didn’t resign though.
Dominion also claims that they have evidence that Rupert Murdoch personally provided Jared Kushner with advance copies of Biden’s ads before they were made public, giving them a sneak peak into Trump’s opponent. Rupert Murdoch and Fox colluded with the president’s son in law and the Trump campaign by providing Kushner with access to confidential information about the Biden campaign along with debate strategy. That’s election interference which is a crime.
The biggest news story of the day, a media network being sued for $1.6 billion for defamation, is not being reported by Fox.
Fox hosts presidential debates and Democrats play along because they have to which legitimizes them. Everybody pretends like Fox is a real news network. Their hosts are all paid actors. Murdoch, the board, and all of the executives are all in agreement that they’re in it for the green. Republicans know it’s all bullshit but they go on their shows all the time because they have nowhere else to go. MAGA Republicans love Fox because Fox makes them feel like they were crowned Homecoming King in high school. Fox News viewers will be the last to know, if ever. They have been duped into believing that Fox is the only trustworthy “news” network.
During her testimony to the Select Committee about January 6, Trump’s press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, admitted that she never paid any attention to news alerts by any reporters other than Fox reporters. Fox was turned on inside the White House during the attack. During her time in the Trump administration, she went on Fox all the time to spin Trump’s Big Lie. She got a job working for Fox after Trump’s term was over. The Fox audience didn’t even notice. They thought she already worked there since she spent more time on Fox than she did in the White House briefing room talking to real reporters.
Speaker Kevin McCarthy has given exclusive access to all of the Capitol security footage from January 6 to Tucker Carlson. He says the people have a right to know (but no other media outlets will be given access).
Giving video to Fox was a surprise to Democrats and the Capitol police. This endangers law enforcement. Nobody should know but a select few where hiding places are inside the Capitol.
