The GOP Shit Show Has Begun
Republicans in the House are an out of control mess. The membership is nuts and they have no leader. In their first three days all they have managed to accomplish is stirring up a lot of dust that’s been laying on the floor of the Office of Republican Bad Ideas, as they swing from the eaves inside the House chambers, throwing their own shit at each other. They have voted to abolish the IRS and Department of Homeland Security, debated eliminating Social Security and Medicare, revived outlawing abortion by passing the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, voted on a rules package with 3 pages of addendums that lists the stuff that Kevin McCarthy gave the Freedom Caucus but is being kept secret, discussed new rules for appropriate attire for women (no naked arms — Margorie Taylor Greene won’t like that, she likes to show off her muscles), allowed smoking in offices, and approved new committees like the “House Subcommittee on Weaponization of the Federal Government.” House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries called it the “committee on insurrection protection.” Democrats Adam Schiff, Eric Swalwell, and Ilhan Omar are getting kicked off the House Intelligence and Foreign Affairs Committees purely out of vengeance.
One of James Comer’s first moves as House Oversight Chairman was to announce an investigation into Biden and his family. Matt Gaetz announced that the Republicans were going to release 14,000 hours of tapes by the Select Committee that he claims were hidden by Democrats. House Majority Leader Steve Scalise ranted about infanticide being a thing. “If a baby is born alive, outside the womb, in some states, they actually are allowing that baby to be killed and calling it abortion.” Elise Stefanik, a former pro-choice moderate with a toddler at home, stood behind him knowing full well that he’s full of shit, but go ahead….throw it. Ryan Zinke made his first speech on the House floor, “Despite the deep state’s attempts to repeatedly stop me I stand before you as a duly elected member of the Congress and tell you that a deep state exists… They want to wipe out the American cowboy.” Billy the kid here had to resign from the most corrupt administration in history, the Trump administration, for 18 corruption charges. Now he’s back as a member of the most corrupt congressional caucus of all time. These idiots will be competing with each other for the next two years for headlines and camera time and get nowhere. It’s all for show. A Republican Shit Show.
25% of the heads of the 20 committees in the House are white guys named Mike. Mike Rogers (the guy with the toupee who almost punched Matt Gaetz a few nights ago) was rewarded for his violent behavior by getting to chair the Armed Services Committee. He’s excited because he gets to wear his helmet.
NPR reported that 22 members of the House only have a high school degree or a GED. They’re stupid and know nothing about how government runs or how a bill becomes a law. Lauren Boebert bragged about passing legislation unaware that it had to go to the Senate and President to pass.
Republicans are claiming that Democrats are coming for their gas stoves.
Kevin McCarthy, Steve Scalise, and Elise Stefanik did a soft pitch interview with Sean Hannity inside the Capitol. The topic? Investigating Biden. Hannity said, in front of a room full of old white people (all but two were men), “One of the things I am seeing, and I like seeing, is more diversity in the Republican Party.”
A new member has been elected to replace Marjorie Taylor Greene as the dumbest, most insane member of Congress. His name is George Santos and he lied about everything to get elected — his education (he never attended any of the schools he said he went to), his work history (he never had any jobs that he said he had), his wealth (he’s broke), his mom dying in 9/11 (she didn’t), having employees that died in the Pulse Nightclub shooting (nope), his religion (he said he was Jewish and his grandparents were Holocaust survivors -not true), his race (he said he’s half Black — half Black AND Jewish?), and his sexuality (he says he’s gay but he neglected to mention he divorced a woman before registering to run). Republicans thought they had hit pay dirt with a “diverse” guy who wasn’t named Mike. See? We’re relatable! And all they got was a pathological liar from Brazil who is under five investigations (local, state, federal and international). Kevin McCarthy refuses to expel him and has given him committee assignments as a thank you for being the one vote he needed to be Speaker. Kevin McCarthy NEEDS George Santos. Santos had someone on his campaign staff pretend to be Kevin McCarthy’s chief of staff who called donors to ask them to give to George Santos’s campaign and Kevin knew about it. He lied about everything to get elected in Long Island, New York. Nobody knows who they voted for. Nobody knows if George Santos is even his real name. GOP leaders in Nassau County along with newly elected House Republican Anthony D’Esposito from New York have called for his immediate resignation. Santos refuses to resign.
The only thing that would be more embarrassing for the House Republicans and Kevin McCarthy is if everybody found out that George Santos is transgender and has been peeing in the men’s room inside the Capitol.
George Santos flashed the white power symbol when he voted for Kevin McCarthy as Speaker.
Lawyers found classified docs in a locked closet when packing up Biden’s old office and did everything they were supposed to do to return them and the repugs are going crazy making a false equivalency out of it when the mens rea was totally different between Biden and Trump. They each had a different state of mind and intention — Biden made a mistake and forgot about the docs when he was in office, Trump stole his docs and took them to his place of residence when he was out of office, lied about them, and refused to return them so he was subpoenaed and a warrant was served to retrieve them and now he is under investigation. Biden didn’t steal anything or lie about anything. Not returning classified documents by accident is a common occurrence with procedures in place to rectify the situation. Biden’s lawyers self-reported the documents and immediately turned them over. That’s not going to matter because the average GOP voter is a shit throwing idiot. The Republicans will spin this so that headlines read like Biden is guilty of stealing classified documents and that’s all MAGAs will hear. Lindsey Graham has already gone on Fox News and said that Attorney General Merrick Garland must appoint a special counsel to look into “Biden’s mishandling of classified documents.”
The Republicans are going to turn a common mistake into an impeachable offense with never ending hearings and investigations while real investigations are being conducted by the Department of Justice about THEM. Season Two of Benghazi and Emails only this time the investigators doing the investigating are being investigated.
