The Usual

Joe Biden hosted the largest fundraiser in history at the Radio City Music Hall in New York with Barack Obama and Bill Clinton. 5,000 people attended and he raised $25 million in one night which is very unusual. It’s more than what Trump raised in December and January and more than the RNC has in its bank account. Stephen Colbert hosted and they all wore Dark Brandon sunglasses on stage. Joe said Trump was “a little old and out of shape.”

The Usual Suspects — Democratic presidents who fixed what Republican presidents trashed

No former living president or vice president will endorse or campaign with Trump. None. George W Bush, Dick Cheney, Mike Pence and Dan Quayle are all still alive and don’t want to have anything to do with him. That’s so unusual it’s unpresidented.

The Republican National Committee is mad at NBC for firing Ronna McDaniel and is thinking about blocking them for their summer convention. The RNC is mad at the media again, how unusual (insert eye roll here).

Clarence Thomas has a new law clerk — his wife’s former personal assistant who is so racist she got forced out of Turning Point USA. Now that’s unusual. The federal judicial code of conduct advises judges to avoid “favoritism” and to hire “only on the basis of merit” but the Supreme Court’s new code of conduct has no such rule so Clarence hire Ginny’s girl who lovingly refers to as a “near daughter.”

The former vice chair of the Georgia GOP, Brian Pritchard, a talk show host and a MAGA nut who spread the idea that the 2020 election was “stolen,” got busted for voting illegally 9 times. He was on felony probation for forging checks. All he had to do was pay a $5,000 fine. $500 for each time he voted and another $500 for good measure. If he was Black he’d be in jail. Illegal voting is highly unusual but the Republicans say its so common Trump lost in 2020.

The Arizona Republican Party is selling the headquarters it bought 9 months ago because they can’t afford it which is their own fault but they’ll blame it on immigrants, Democrats, sexually active women, and gay people. The usual.

Speaking of Arizona, Mike Roman, a former Trump campaign aide who was indicted with Trump in Fulton County, Georgia, has been subpoenaed as part of a separate probe in Arizona investigating efforts to overturn the 2020 election results.

The Missouri House passed a bill that would permanently eliminate income taxes for corporations. The measure would cost the state $900 million and would stick it to poor people, per usual, by making cuts to public services. About 1 of every 7 Missouri residents lives in poverty. All Republicans voted for the bill. All Democrats opposed it. The state’s corporate income tax is already one of the lowest in the country at 4%.

Trump went nuts over Easter weekend posting on Truth Social. He made 70 posts on Sunday morning alone, mostly threats against Judge Mershon in the New York criminal case, and his daughter. He posted a video of President Biden tied up in the back of a pickup truck and articles from two separate publications that said he is “The Chosen One” and “a miracle” who was “sent by God” to save America. On Easter morning. Straight up dangerous, criminal insanity. The usual.

Truth Social stock is tanking right after it went public. It’s probably going to crash. Trump business as usual.
