Throw a Book at THEM
Ron DeSantis has told all teachers to remove all books in their classrooms so they can be inspected. He’s censoring teachers by making them censor their classroom libraries because he says that teachers are using books to “groom” students or indoctrinate them with leftist ideologies. Only books sanctioned by the state can go back up. If they defy him, they could be charged with a felony. No Anne Frank. Nothing on African American history. No books by or about gays. He’s banning books in schools, but not guns. He cancelled all AP Black history classes, but didn’t touch AP Italian, German, Japanese, Spanish, or European studies because he thinks African American history lacks educational value. He’s not only banning books and making laws to uphold white supremacy in public schools, he is meddling in school board elections and college boards.
Texas passed a law preventing schools from teaching the truth about American history. Teachers cannot teach about systemic racism and the subjugation of people of color. The State Board of Education voted to erase Hillary Clinton from its history curriculum. On Holocaust Memorial Day it pulled “Maus,” a book for 8th graders about the Holocaust using mice as Jews and cats as Nazis. They lied and said they did it because of nudity and a bad word. They don’t want kids learning about the Holocaust. Germany teaches its children about the Holocaust. Why not Texas? By banning “Maus” it sold out on Amazon.
Republicans are banning books like “1984” and putting cameras in the classroom to spy on teachers.
North Dakota wants to prohibit books depicting sexual or gender identity and proposes up to 30 days imprisonment for librarians who refuse to remove banned titles.
In northern Idaho, someone stalked smart people in the public library to see what they were checking out then went and reshelved those books so readers couldn’t find them. They hid books about gun control, women’s rights, LGBTQ issues, the American criminal justice system, and anything critical about Trump. The library used to keep those books in a locked glass case, away from the other books, but then a new librarian came along and said that those books belonged on the shelves with all the other books because you know, it’s a PUBLIC LIBRARY which infuriated the MAGAs. Skin heads didn’t move all the way up there to be confronted with different points of view so it’s censorship and symbolic book burning for private Idaho and if you don’t like it you can move to California.
Oklahoma wrote a law that says if a single parent objects to a book it must be removed within 30 days. If it’s not, the librarian must be fired and cannot work for any public school for two years. They borrowed the abortion bounty idea from Texas to reward parents for spying. Complaints are worth $10,000 a day from school districts if the book is not taken off the shelf. The first books to go? Anything that “normalized” homosexuality.
Jamestown, Michigan defunded its public library because they claimed the librarians were “pedophiles” who were “grooming” children and promoting an “LGBTQ ideology.”
In Missouri, Ryan Utterbac, a big mouth homophobe who tried to get books banned in schools that had anything to do with homosexuality, was charged with second degree child molestation and possessing and passing of child porn.
In Kentucky, Phillip Todd Wilson, a principal who made news over 10 years ago for banning books with “homosexual content” from his high school, was arrested on charges of possession and distribution of child pornography.
During the Cold War it was important that everyone prove that they weren’t communists. One way to do that was go to church because commies were atheists. Read the one and only true book, the Bible. Kids were indoctrinated with nationalistic story lines by using super heroes in comic books. Comic books were used as propaganda for kids to promote the true American way.
Trump created a 1776 Commission to promote “patriotic education” with a white supremacy pro-American curriculum that celebrated the “truth” about our nation’s great history. Hitler did that too with Hitler Youth, a Nazi mentorship program that taught kids about the Aryan master race and how Hitler was the greatest leader in the world and Germany was the greatest country in the world.
Hitler burned books, Trump never reads them.

Republicans want to take us back to Puritan colonial times where books were banned, the Bible was taught, witches were burned, and white men were in charge. The first settlers turned their backs on the Enlightenment in Europe to live their lives in the dark.
Lauren Boebert just did an interview where she said God told her that her re-election victory would be like the Prophet Elijah in the Bible defeating the prophets of Baal. She believes Jesus will return because Satan will beg him to because Christians are out in such “a great force” not because they are “hiding in caves” due to “a government lockdown.” Lauren Boebert, Marjorie Taylor Greene, and Jim Jordan are in control of Congress. The only book they read is the Bible and they don’t even read that.
