Trump doesn’t like the optics of him imprisoning little kids and making them sit in their own filth without any toys, blankets, decent food, exercise, fresh air or THEIR PARENTS so he had the government move 200- 300 children out of a Texas border patrol station that was getting all the bad press and moved them somewhere else. Nobody knows exactly how many or where they went because the Trump administration is very good at keeping the media out.
Cruelty is the point. It’s the strategy.
These poor, traumatized, scared children were sleeping on concrete floors with the lights on 24 hours a day with no access to soap, toothpaste, fresh clothes, diapers or clean bedding. One doctor described such conditions as torture.
4 bodies were found at the border near one of Trump’s camps in the Rio Grande — a 20 year old, a toddler and 2 babies. The feds say they died of dehydration. Who died of thirst first?
283 people were found dead at the border last year.
Every time Jake Tapper asked Mike Pence why they wouldn’t give kids soap and toothpaste he would just laugh as if that was a stupid question.
Republican congressman Michael Burgess of Texas said the kids who are locked up in concentration camps are free to leave any time they want.
The company that runs immigration detention centers in Texas, GEO, is the top donor for 2 Texas Republican congressmen, John Culberson and Henry Cuellar, who both serve on the House Appropriations Homeland Security Subcommittee which funds private immigration detention centers. Culberson is the chair. Carter serves on the House Appropriations subcommittee on commerce, justice and science, which oversees funding for private prisons.
People are making a shit ton of money off of these private prisons. John Kelly joined the board of directors for Caliburn International last month. Caliburn is the parent company of Comprehensive Health Services, which operates shelters for unaccompanied migrant children in Texas. Prior to going to work for Trump in the White House, he had a seat on the board of advisors of DC Capital Partners, an investment firm that now owns Caliburn.
Meanwhile, the Third Lady announced that she has chosen 20 new ambassadors for her Be Best Initiative to improve the lives of childrens but not the childrens at the border.

Trump announced “hard hitting” sanctions on Iran. He goofed and admitted earlier that the sanctions were planned before the downing of the drone.
The House Oversight Committee requested that Kellyanne Conway come in for questioning about her repeated violations of the Hatch Act and the White House said NO. Will the chair of the committee, Elijah Cummings, subpoena her and have her arrested if she doesn’t show? NO.

The ball has been in the Dems’ court since April 18 when Bill Barr did his PR conference before releasing the redacted version of the Mueller Report. He read his client’s victim impact statement and took control of the narrative and the game. The Dems have been fumbling the ball for every single play ever since. Put pressure on them to subpoena witnesses and arrest them if they don’t appear. They need to play hardball, not drop the ball.
