Trump’s Summer Camp for Kids
Trump’s children’s internment camps are state sponsored child abuse fueled by racism and xenophobia. He has used the government to kidnap immigrant children and hold them as hostages until he gets his wall.
Self hating Jew, Stephen Miller, Trump’s white supremacist tag along aide, came up with the idea of ripping children from their mothers and throwing them into internment camps — “It was a simple decision by the administration to have a zero tolerance policy for illegal entry, period. The message is that no one is exempt from immigration law.”
Trump and the Republican Congress own this.
While Republican members of Congress tweeted out platitudes about Father’s Day, Democrats showed up in the heat to see for themselves what the hell is going on with immigrant children and their fathers, on Father’s Day.
Susan Collins blames the media for the controversy of children being taken from their parents. She says she doesn’t support legislative efforts to stop family separation because she thinks the bills are “far too broad.” She thinks giving Trump his wall is a good compromise.
Republican senators refuse to sign on to Dianne Feinstein’s Keep Families Together Act because A) fuck those kids, B) party before country, morality and democracy, or C) we’re scared Trump will tweet about us.
Republican hypocrite fun fact: Senator Ted Cruz has nothing to say about children being taken as political prisoners in his state.
Fox News says that those kids aren’t in cages. The authorities simply “built walls out of chain-link fences.”
Breitbart News host, Joel Pollak, says that the media is lying. Kids aren’t in cages. He saw for himself that kids are being housed in a dormitory with a school, clinic, and outdoor recreation. They have new clothes. They go on field trips to parks and zoos. They even had a prom.
The camps and detention facilities don’t have enough workers to change diapers and keep kids clean and healthy. Kids are having to change each others’ diapers.
The president of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Colleen Kraft, visited a detention center in Texas and saw a young girl crying. The staff told her not to touch her. It’s against federal regulations.
Former traditional, quiet First Lady, Laura Bush, who has never liked the spot light, wrote an op-ed in the Washington Post condemning the policy of taking immigrant children away from their parents. So now Trump has gone and pissed off Laura Bush.
Crossing the border illegally is a misdemeanor. Children aren’t taken from their parents over a single case of trespassing or disorderly conduct, so why now?
Asking for asylum at the border isn’t a crime. But handcuffing people, throwing them in jail, and putting kids in concentration camps should be a crime.
While the Trump Administration spins Trump’s new policy as a law passed by Democrats, sanctioned by the Bible, or not really happening (fake news!), Democratic members of congress are visiting camps and detention centers to bear witness to what is happening on US soil. Senator Jeff Merkley was denied entrance to a converted Walmart in Texas, a group was denied access to an ICE detention center in New Jersey, and congress members Beto O’Rourke and Joseph Kennedy, III, were denied access to the internment camps after joining protesters on a day’s notice. Cars were parked for miles. People came from all over like Field of Dreams. They got as close as they could and chanted loud so the kids could hear them. The camp had 98 kids on Saturday. It doubled on Sunday. It’s made for 400 but they’re going to expand it to take 4000.
Members of Congress crossed into Mexico and walked the bridge where asylum seekers usually wait for days to request legal refuge. Nobody was there. This is exactly what Trump, Sessions, and their racist followers want.
Head of Homeland Security, Kirstjen Nielsen, tweeted, “We do not have a policy of separating families at the border. Period.” Twitter handed her lily white ass right back to her, on a platter of conservative poop.
Trump doesn’t listen to the American people. He doesn’t listen to his advisors. He only listens to Putin and himself.
