Two Americas
The Article of Impeachment against Trump will be delivered to the Senate on Monday and the trial will begin on February 9. Chuck Schumer goofed and said “erection” instead of “insurrection” when making his Senate floor speech. If Trump was being tried for an erection like Clinton was, would the Republicans vote to convict?
Democrats are happy to give Trump more time for Trump to prepare his defense (he finally got a lawyer to take this on.) The Constitution that he tried to destroy protects him and guarantees him a fair trial. More time also frees the Senate up to confirm President Biden’s appointments which Republicans have been saying they can’t do if the Democrats make them do that AND listen to impeachment managers at the same time. Democrats are fine with more time because it allows for more damning evidence to emerge that will make it harder for the Republicans not to convict such as this latest bit of breaking news: Trump colluded with a traitor in the DOJ, Jeffrey Clark, the acting head of the civil division, to fire the acting AG after Bill Barr left and then take his place so that he could use his power to accuse Georgia of election fraud and demand that the electoral votes be given to Trump. Trump wanted a new Attorney General, a new CIA director, and someone acting on his behalf at the Pentagon to pull off his diabolical plan. This is way bigger than Nixon’s Saturday Night Massacre and it’s only going to get bigger so take your time Republicans.
Trump spent $2.7 million from his campaign to pay people to organize the insurrection.
The insurrectionists who have been arrested are getting special treatment in the courts because they’re white. They get to go home on bail. They tried to overthrow the government and they’re being treated as if they’re not a real threat. Conservative white judges are lecturing them as if they were teenagers who got busted for shop lifting before sending them home. Meanwhile, people of color are sitting in jail because they can’t afford bail. In 2010, a black youth named Kalief Browder was accused of stealing a backpack with valuables in it when he was 16. He spent 3 years at Riker’s Island without a trial, 2 years were in solitary confinement. He committed suicide 3 years after he was released when he was 22. His mother found him. Riley Williams stole a laptop from Speaker Pelosi’s office at the age of 22 to sell to the Russians and she got to be released to her mother. There are 2 justice systems for 2 different Americas. One of them stormed the Capitol and the other saved democracy.
Microsoft has made public statements in support of BLM and racial justice but they continue to fund the new Jim Crow caucus by giving money to Republicans who voted to nullify black votes so Trump could steal the election.
The Constitution that the insurgents tried to overthrow is protecting them by guaranteeing them legal counsel.
4 star general Lloyd Austin has come out of retirement to be confirmed as Biden’s Secretary of Defense. The vote was 93–2. He is the first African American to lead the agency. Jim Crow Caucus leader Josh Hawley voted no. So did Mike Lee.
Chuck Schumer said no to Mitch McConnell wanting to share power. Mitch McConnell will still try all of the same old tricks but he won’t have the power to be successful every time.
Republicans are drilling down hard on the “radical leftist agenda” on day 3 of the Biden presidency after supporting a literal radical right agenda for 4 years.
GOP Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy not only won’t take any responsibility for creating and feeding a monster that gave birth to millions of other monsters, he’s now blaming everybody across the country for letting it happen. The leader of the Personal Responsibility Party takes no responsibility at all.
Republicans incited a mob to overthrow the government and now they’re expecting unity without atoning for what they’ve done. If the Democrats don’t let them get away with that then they will spin it as Democrats don’t want unity.
First Lady Dr. Jill Biden went outside of the White House to bring the National Guard freshly baked cookies and thank them. She’s a National Guard mom and understands their sacrifice. She told them, “I just wanted to come today to say thank you to all of you for keeping me and my family safe.”
Nearly 200 members of the National Guard deployed to Washington DC have tested positive for covid 19.
62 members of Congress have or have had covid — 44 repugs and 18 Dems. Several of the Dems got it from the repugs because most of them have refused to wear masks or follow social distance guidelines. At least 4 Dems and 2 spouses got it while being in lockdown with vile filthy conspiracy theorists who made in your face statements by refusing the masks that were offered to them to protect everyone else from a deadly virus while demented conspiracy theory white supremacists were out in the halls wanting to assassinate them.
There are 2 Americas and Biden wants to unite both.
