Two Republicans Get Their Due
Today is a great day for all of the decent, honest Americans who have been waiting for years to see Republicans get what they deserve. Trump lost in civil court and has to pay E. Jean Carroll $5 million for sexual battery and defamation and George Santos is in jail.
It only took the jury 3 hours to unanimously find that the pig did what E. Jean Carroll said he did. Dozens of other women have accused him of the same thing but they got nowhere legally because Trump is a thug and they were too scared to take him on. 79 year old E. Jean Carroll wasn’t and now he has to pay.
Trump blew off testifying so the jury was shown his taped deposition instead. When he was asked if he believed that you can grab women by the pussy if you’re a star, he said yes. “It’s been true for a million years.” He said she got off on it. “Actually she indicated that she loved it.” The lawyer asked for clarification. “She loved it. She loved it. It was sexy. It was very sexy to be raped. Didn’t she say that? Sir, I just want to confirm, it’s your testimony that E. Jean Carroll said she loved being sexually assaulted by you?”
Trump replied, “Well based on her interview with Anderson Cooper, I believe that’s what took place.”
Trump’s attorney’s closing argument to the jury was that this wasn’t a real rape.
E. Jean Carroll’s statement: “I filed this lawsuit against Donald Trump to clear my name and to get my life back. Today, the world finally knows the truth. This victory is not just for me but for every woman who has suffered because she was not believed.”
Trump blew off showing up in court to state his case but posted on Truth Social that he wasn’t allowed to speak or defend himself. Then he made a video saying the judge was a Trump hating judge, the jury hated him, E. Jean Carroll was financed by Democratic operatives, it was a scam, a witch hunt, a disgrace.
Mike Pence was asked about the verdict and he said that that’s not where the country is focused.
Marco Rubio said, “The jury is a joke. The whole case is a joke.”
George Santos was arrested this morning and charged with seven counts of wire fraud, three counts of money laundering, one count of theft of public funds, and two counts of making materially false statements to the House of Representatives. If convicted, he could go to jail for 20 years. He will be arraigned this afternoon at a federal courthouse in New York.
Santos used campaign contributions “for his personal benefit, including to make cash withdrawals, personal purchases of luxury, designer clothing, credit card payments, a car payment, payments on personal debts.” He also falsely claimed to be unemployed in order to collect unemployment benefits, while he was actually being paid $120,000 a year as salary for a job as “Regional Director of an Investment Firm.”
If Santos is being charged with two counts of making materially false statements to the House of Representatives, doesn’t that mean they can all be arrested now, starting with Kevin McCarthy? The Republicans are all a bunch of liars and thieves.
Kevin McCarthy is going to wait and see if Santos is convicted of anything before he reacts. He needs his vote. McCarthy wouldn’t care if anyone in his caucus was a pedophile and killed a baby (2 things Republicans accuse Democrats of doing), he’d stand by them for their vote.
Meanwhile Republicans held a press conference saying they’re gonna get a Biden and put him in jail.
