Unforgivable
Funerals will begin this week for 19 innocent kids who were failed by Texas, America, and the police. Both the state and federal governments practically GAVE the 18 year old kid the gun used to shoot up the school. Some parents are going to keep the caskets of their child’s mutilated dead bodies open to show the world what an assault rifle does to little children. Unforgivable.
Greg Abbott was booed when he showed up at the Uvalde memorial. There was a huge crowd that was kept back by a barricade and cops. Abbott had to have been worried that the “mob” would get too close to him given how unprepared the cops were at serving and protecting the students and teachers at Robb Elementary School last week. Unforgivable.
President and Dr. Biden met with parents for four hours privately.
Ulvade is a small town so everybody knows more than one person who was shot and killed at Robb Elementary. The parents of the kids who were killed also went to Robb Elementary. The town is so small it doesn’t have its own coroner or medical examiner so the job of identifying the bodies fell to Judge Eulalio Diaz, the county’s justice of the peace, whose typical duties include court cases and officiating weddings. He knew most of the people he had to identify. How perverse is that? A town of 16,000 doesn’t have a medical examiner but it has a useless SWAT team.
The cops didn’t respond for 78 minutes because they were scared of getting shot. 40% of the local taxes paid by the parents of the children who were murdered went towards toys, guns, training and cool outfits for the cops who stood by and let their kids get killed. They looked fierce though, decked out in the tactical gear that the parents paid for. 19 cops stood in the school hallway for about an hour while kids who hadn’t been killed laid in their classroom, next to the dead bodies of their classmates, covered in blood, calling 9–1–1 with their dead teacher’s phone. Hundreds of rounds were pumped in four minutes into classrooms where children were trapped. One girl smeared her friend’s blood on her to fool the shooter so he’d think she was dead.
Those kids were already traumatized by their governor not doing enough to protect them during the pandemic and now this.
The cops did active shooter training inside Robb Elementary a couple of months ago for the exact same scenario but then chickened out when they needed to put the practice and training into action. They knew the layout and interior of the school. Their instructional materials say the priority for responding officers is to stop the killing by confronting the attacker, yet when the real thing happened they freaked out. They were too scared to do their jobs. Unforgivable.
Greg Abbott was furious that he was “misled” by others about what happened. He cancelled his speaking engagement at the NRA conference in Houston so he could make an appearance at Uvalde and get booed. Keeping his speaking engagement at the NRA would have been bad optics but he still went ahead and made a video of himself pledging his support and appreciation for the NRA. While it was played for the puny crowd inside the convention hall thousands of protesters were outside chanting, “Vote him out!” There were more people outside than inside which represents the whole country. A couple of Republicans and kooks on the inside and everybody else on the outside, screaming.
Trump had no problem not cancelling his appearance at the NRA convention. No way! He needed the attention. After he read the names of the victims of the Uvalde shooting, he did his little dance on stage. He blamed “broken families” as the cause for mass shootings. “No law can cure the effects of a broken home.” He has broken 3 of his own families and an entire country. Unforgivable.
Texas Senator Ted Cruz wouldn’t miss getting to speak at the NRA. They’re one of his biggest fans and donors! He used the same GOP talking points as Trump and blamed mass shootings on absent fathers. He threw in declining church attendance, social media, and video games for reasons why anybody would shoot up a school. And then he went with the gun nut crowd pleaser, “What stops armed bad guys is armed good guys!” He chose being with the NRA to fundraise over being with traumatized, grieving constituents. He might as well have gone to Cancun. After his appearance at the NRA, Ted Cruz was confronted by a very upset man at a restaurant in Houston. The man called Cruz out for his defense of guns and not caring about 19 dead children. Ted just stood there and grinned at the guy as his body guards pushed him out of the restaurant. How free can Ted be now that he has to go everywhere with security? Get rid of those guys and Ted will want gun control right quick. He’s the most hated man in Congress.
Wayne LaPierre’s slogan, “The only thing that can stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun” post Sandy Hook should be retired now since 100 good guys with guns were too scared to take on one bad guy with a gun and thus let children die.
It won’t be long before the 9–1–1 calls made by the kids are released and the Republicans will be unmoved. Dead kids are the price that must be paid for their freedom.
The Senate skipped town for 2 weeks without taking any action on guns. They’re not going to. We all know that for this is the most corrupt and inept Senate in history. There aren’t enough Democrats.
Republicans don’t love money, guns and power more than anything else. They don’t love at all. Unforgiveable.
More kids have died in school shootings than cops have died in the line of duty this year and it’s only May.

Guns are the #1 cause of death for kids in America. It used to be car accidents.
